Another Blurfin' MMP

I don’t alphabetize the cans, but I do group related items together, gotta have labels facing front, and I rotate by date. I spend at least one day a week volunteering at a food pantry, with stocking shelves being one of my major tasks, so that tends to carry over to home.

I agree with the cash thing. My wallet (when I have cash, being the kind of ditz who rarely remembers to get the stuff) is organized the way you describe.

I also hate raging uncertainty about what comes next.

What’s beyond blurf as far as emotional state? I’m getting seriously stressed and depressed, and I think DH and I are basically in a downward feedback spiral with each other. :frowning:

I was feelin’ pretty damn blurfy today… but somebody referred to me as being as “gay as a dolphin” and that really cheered me up.

My dad’s surgery went well. I came home for a nap and am heading back soon. I realize that in theory knees are no big deal, but he’s had three heart attacks so I worry.

Since the surgery is over I would believe you are on the down side of worrying about anything cardiovascular. What does his physician say?

I’m taking advantage of the cool by baking - I’ve got a peach crisp in the oven. Yum! And a hunk of chicken thawing for supper - not sure what I’ll do with it just yet. But we had a late lunch, so I have time to figure it out.

Just brought in my laundry - wish I’d had time to do 2 loads. But tomorrow’s gonna be purdy, so I’ll do more then.

Yay for your dad’s successful surgery StickyBuns!

Howdy from da cave. Gonna go make dindin. Cubed steak ‘n gravy, rice, field peas with snaps, steamed squish and bizkits. YUM! Got me a down home cookin’ gnawin’ and a cravin’.

Be back later to catch up.

Sauce is simmerin’ away on the stove. Once it’s done simmerin’ I get to play with my old Foley Food Mill.

This is the recipe I’m using if anyone is curious. Step 3, which is not included, is run the whole thing through a food processor (or Foley mill if you’re old school like me and like to play with them) because it’s all kinds of chunky and not smooth like the picture. That’s not sauce to me. That’s just cooked mirepoix. (I’m actually impressed I could remember that word. Ooh-la-la I just parlez francais!)

The executive decision has been made - we’re neither of us very hungry, so we’ll make sammiches if we want something later. So the chickie goes back into the fridge for tomorrow.

But we still have peach crisp!

Homegrown bean concoction, pizza, 'n homemade blackberry 'n apple pie for din-din. Was nom. Still half left for tomorrow too

That is the advantage of the housemate buggering off, I can make nice food without her demanding a share. Things have been staying where I put them as well.

Steadily getting rid of stuff I can’t take when I move, though I did acquire a fabric painting kit today- it’s pretty small when taken out the box, about the size of a single book, and I’ve got rid of about 100 of them already. It’s barely made a dent in the collection either…

Dindin got cooked and et. 'Twas nummilicious. I needed me some downhome foodstuffs tonight. OYKW is especially happy cause he has a plate for N.O.L. tomorrow. It takes so little to amuse him.

Yay for findin’ a title company sari!

Yay for findin’ your unmentionables Spaz! I actually own a Foley Food Mill. I don’t use it, but I own one.

$2.99 just wait until you’re called “gayer than a debutante on holiday in Paris.” You’ll be positively giddy!

Rosie here’s hopin’ you go since I get the feelin’ you really want to go see your old professor. Might be a great time even.

The temp has dropped to 75 Amurrkin out and 'tis quite rainy. I expect it to be right stormy before the night is through and stormy into tomorrow as well.

On the war with Mediacom front, a really cute but YOOOOOOOUUUUUNNNNNNNG tech guy came out. He says everything says the boxes should be workin’ but they’re not, except for one, and he is baffled. Anywho, he’s comin’ out tomorrow with new ones because it appears to him the three non-workin’ ones were indeed not programmed for HD which would cause the problem. He’s just so gosh darned wholesome lookin’ I couldn’t be mean. I am such a softie!

I think I’ll log out and knit. TTFN!!

So you’re going along to carry The Cute One and her stuff?
What a mensch!

oh jeez I just friggin give up
every time I try to post the screen goes poof!

so all the yays boos hugs and happy dances distributed as needed
left over spaghetti for dinner and I should have eaten before I got a bath and washed my hair
first thing I did was drop a noodle in my hair, dip my hair in the sauce and drop another noodle on my shirt

probably time to get a hair cut anyway
it’s not quite butt floss yet but it is getting caught in stuff

Hmm, just the other day I was wondering how to complete the phrase, “As gay as a ___.” I think there used to be a saying, “gay as a lark,” but that was another meaning of gay.
Today I didn’t have much to do at work. And I was alone in the office for much of the day. I often like doing things by myself, but I find that when I’m in the office alone without much to do, I get lonely.

Tomorrow will probably be the last day of this, though, because my main supervisor is finally coming back from vacation next week. Maybe tomorrow I’ll take initiative and ask if anyone has any work for me. I really should do that more often. I wish I didn’t have crippling anxiety and I wasn’t so afraid of just talking to people. :frowning:

I should talk to Mr. Techie tomorrow and ask him if any more computers need to be cleaned at work. I should’ve talked to him today, but I was worried I wouldn’t find him or that I’d bother him. Darn me.

Anyway. Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day at work. Maybe I should tell myself to make it better.

After work today I took the metro (subway) down to the Berri-UQAM station, went to 3 music stores, and bought various music-related things. Yay.

I saw the coolest cloud formation on the way home - it looked like a baby elephant farting. The bigger of the two clouds looked like the elephant had his legs folder underneath, his truck curled upwards; the smaller cloud looked like it had been expelled from the bigger one with a bit of force. I was on a parkway, though, and there was no place for me to pull over and snap a pic.

tsk And here I thought you were classy.

That recipe makes 20 oz of sauce once it’s processed, btw. I have a measuring jar. My kitchen is small but full of neat things I’ve inherited over the years.

I’ve always wondered about the phrase “gay as Dick’s hatband.” I was not aware hatbands had gender.

Back to cutting up old t-shirts. I’m going to make a rug. I’ve gotten Older Sister interested in the recycled market bags as a Girl Scout project. Girl Scouts are very into recycling these days.

I hadn’t heard that one.

In related news, it’s Pride Week here in Montreal. I walked around near Montreal’s Gay Village and they had some music performance going on. Unfortunately I didn’t get to stay and listen, but it looked like fun.

I wonder if I can get in some ukulele practice before going to bed.

Good Gad!

Irked, came home.

If I was closer, I’d be your Sherpa.

One of us! One of us!

:dubious: How do you find anything?
