Another one bites the dust; or, the 1972 Miami Dolphins can breathe a sigh of relief.

Whew! I was beginning to feel sure that Indianapolis would run the table this year.

Congrats from this Dolfan to the SD Chargers for taming those Indy Colts, in Indianapolis no less, in the symbolically significant Game 14 of the regular season, thus preventing them from going on to best the “NFL’s only perfect season” bragging rights from the '72 'Fins. I bet Tony Dungy is wishing he’d played more second-stringers and spared Eli Manning the beating he took today, for, as it turned out, no good purpose.

And I bet Larry Csonka’s slightly drunk by now. (But I’m sure he’s a happy drunk.) Send some of that bubbly to the Chargers, guys!

So three cheers for San Diego for the upset!

:smack: Peyton Manning, not Eli. What I wouldn’t give to swap Eli for Peyton for the Giants’ sake.

A number of the '72 Dolphins and Don Shula have issued press statements.

I’m a long time Charger fan so I am very happy. My boys still will have a tough time making the playoffs though.

Sorry, that’s my fault. I decided to watch the last 5 minutes of the game. I had them in the pool. Then again, I had Tampa Bay, too.
