Another Photo Assignment: Take Pictures by February 1st

Those are really good. Are you a professional photographer?

Thanks, I’m glad you like my stuff! I’m not a pro, just an obsessed amateur who’s only been seriously shooting for about 2 years. However, I’ve drawn and been an art lover since I was a little kid and that background has certainly helped when it comes to things like composition, colour, etc.

BTW, I like your computer photo. That menacing glow would make it a perfect Dr. Who villain.

I love this one. Watches, clocks, gears, springs, etc., hold a deep fascination for me for some reason.

ok…

From my kitchen
My front door and the bush beside it. (was playing with zooming around on long exposures)
My favorite possession other than my camera, which has been done already. It is a Lulua Cheiftan sculpture, Zaire, circa 1870.
and, photographer’s choice, I’m taking two here, as well. A nice lion from the Maasai Mara, and my daughter during a super heavy rainstorm.

also, Anaamika, I could not access yours. Was getting 404 errors.

and Hodge, that’s some nice shootin’

Ok here are mine

Bubble dog! I like it.

I just hope bubbledog can breath!
BTW… WOW… that snow is awesome… KCMO has had a global warming winter… 50 deg this week… was 60 twice last week… people cheer I go DAMN yeah republicans… no reason to join the Global Warming Conference like all other industrialized countries…

wow… for such bad political talk I appologize and offer this ONE infrared pic I took this weekend that I might consider kinda cool…

BAHHHH… maybe this? http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/757/pict00095oh.jpg

Out of curiosity, how are you shooting IR? (Surely not film! Nobody shoots film anymore)

Its just an infrared filter actually. I was inspired to try it out by Hodges amazing IR work from the link he posted in his previous post. Check out his work if you haven’t yet, its wonderful.

I guess to answer your main question, its digital. It seems most digital cameras will capture the IR wavelength if at least most of the other visible light spectrum is blocked.

At the moment I am limited to a cell phone camera, the photo quality is so-so.

From the Kitchen (also my current wallpaper.)

From a nearby vantage.

I don’t have a favorite posession at the moment, this is pretty cool though.

Are those oranges? in your bushes? lol wow… lucky!

With just under eighteen hours to spare…

Here’s the view from my front porch, in black and white. I guess since it’s also shot from about two feet off the ground, it’s sort of what the dog might see.

A kitchen item I can’t live without.

My favorite possession, which I will love even more once I’ve completely paid for it.

And finally, the one I want to show off with.

Is anyone planning a February assignment? 'Cause I think we should.

TellmeI’mnotcrazy, come back! You’re not crazy! More assignments please!

Here we go:
The view from my back door (NSFW!)
My Favourite Thing - Tried to catch it looking its most crustacean…
Kitchen Objects - I’m reminded of the 3 flying ducks…
My Choice - I thought I’d be the only IR photog, aah well.

MrFantsyPants, go here , here and here to learn more about digital IR, if the fantsy takes you…
