Another sleepless MMP?

DOGGIO ---- haven’t you ever seen Caddyshack? C-4 is terrific stuff but far from correct for groundhogs. You want a bunker-buster or at least a left-over M-121 if you can get a good deal on one.

Hmmmm – who do we know with connections to the Air Force?

I had the opportunity to apply my high school geometry to determine the center point of an arc and its radius. Go me!!! It’s been 45 years since I was in Mrs. Stephenson’s Honors Geometry, and I still remember.

I also broke a nail. :frowning: No workman’s comp. Dammit. But it’s lunch time, so there’s that.

It is imperative that the ground hog-or a majority of body parts-remain above ground to avoid the six weeks of bad weather.

Afternoon all!

Having a pretty lazy day; fed the bees (they was grumpy hungry little bees), dug up some parsnips and am pretending to plan my trip to Barcelona/surrounding areas. It’s next week, which seems to have caught me by surprise. Lucky I used to work at the airport doing stoopit shift patterns, so I already know how to get there for 5am eh?

To be fair, I have had other things to think about; I’m now just waiting for my ex-boss to send in the reference, and my application’s ready to go. I’m fighting the temptation to harass her into sending it faster dammit, but that would probably be a little counterproductive.

My boss has discovered that my birthday is coming up soon, and declared that we should all go out to celebrate. ‘All’ means a grand total of me, him and the other waitress.

I think I would rather poke myself in the eye with a spoon.

I think he has agreed that I got underpaid last month; English is not his first language, and, as I said, he doesn’t do the paperirk, and frankly I don’t think he knows what’s going on with his own payroll, so we shall see.

We don’t get groundhogs. Maybe that’s why our weather’s so unpredictable.

Go rotate! :stuck_out_tongue:

She may be female, but if she’s your friend, I’m pretty sure she’s NOT a lady. :o

Have you ever seen fireworks on TV? Not nearly as exciting as seeing them live, right? Same with Punsxy on Feb 2nd. You MUST see it live at least once on your life; it is frickin’ AWESOME!!! Tens of thousands of people gather…outside…pre-dawn…in northern PA…in February to watch a bunch of guys pull a rodent from a stump! Pre-dawn fireworks, beach balls batted around by the crowd, a comedian warm up, & an average BAC of about .13.

I was planning on being there dark & early tomorrow morning, but unfortunately will not be able to go now. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:
Now that annoying little shit, Gus, on the other hand should be made into stew…or roadkill…or just disappeared. True story: one of my former teammates is a Grip; Gus has spent the night with him.

butters, some of my earliest memories of my mother is of her ironing and watching her stories. She was eternally grateful when wash and wear became commonplace. :stuck_out_tongue:

Y’all know, if you get a young one, ground hogs can be good eatin’.

I need to take a casserole over to a friend’s home this evening (I had emergency lasagna in the freezer) as her mother passed yesterday (on my friend’s birthday, no less). Grinsie was 103 and change and a sweetheart. Her grandchildren and daughter in Chicago are all coming in, so feeding the hungry crew has been coordinated.

Not cool dude. We don’t even know her.

I am alive! It’s true. Pulse and everything. I highly recommend that no one get the flu. It really kicked my tuckus, but I made it.

Monday the TSA took my finger prints. I’m signing up for “PRE”, their skip the line program. I’m traveling a lot right now to get to my doctors in CA and it’s pretty inexpensive (and I hate standing in long security lines), so I did it. 4 weeks to get my card.

Tuesday I spent half the day getting various chemicals “infused” into my veins at Stanford. Holy fuzzy chickens. This batch hurt like the dickens. Next time they say “is your hand ok for the IV” the answer is “NO”. Y’all should use that too, on general principles. The veins are tinier and more sensitive and whatever they used this time, my veins hated.

A lady was going around offering massages. I said, “sure”. Why not? Turns out it was “Reiki”, which is this close to laying of hands. No actual massage. Just some awfully personal touches from a lady with warm hands. Oh well. Kept me distracted for 10 minutes while I waited for the massage to start. :stuck_out_tongue:

Today we’re taking pizza to 'Beamer’s old class, which should be fun.

Speaking of which, it’s time to leave.

Hugs, gets wells, and appropriate encouragements to all.

But we do know him!

Then again, you could be right, she could be a Garth Brooks fan. Wait, that’s pretty much the same thing as my first sentence. :o

A B-61 would do it.

And let Snopes determine where or not the rodent went back into his burrow?

Happy Hump Day!

A day of annoyances.
Our internet connection went down last night. When it came back up Sah-son’s computer worked, my phone worked, my computer didn’t. We got it working but it’s still acting wonky. Probably time for a new one.

Got a letter from the health insurance people, they have some new program I’m supposed to join where I have a health care savings account. I’m not in the mood to deal with that now, but I have two weeks to sign up.

AT&T is making some changes. I am going to lose my address book and I need to sign in to save it. Not the address book on my phone but the address book on my account. I’m also going to lose all my stuff in the cloud if I don’t update something or another or sumpin.

Whatever, why can’t people just leave shit alone. No, they always have to screw with it and cause me extra work.

I hate hate HATE getting older. Yeah I know, its better than the alternative but today I couldn’t open a jar of spaghetti sauce. That is usually an easy jar to open.

I’ve been giving Adam treats, but they are in a treat ball and he has to work for them. He’s learning.

My new oven knows when my chicken is done!! I just set it to bake, nothing else, and after about 20 minutes, I heard some beeping. It was my oven telling me supper was ready! And it was!! Can’t wait to try it with a meatloaf. Or a roast. Or some baked goods.

Supper was yum. **FCD **did the dishes and I’m about to load the dishwasher before assuming the knit posture on the recliner. It’s been a good day.

Howdy Y’all! Been busy today. Did laundry, made dindin, set up new ‘puter, set up new modem, and even squeezed in a nap. I am leavin’ shortly for the church house and Evening Prayer. I debated not goin’ but since I did put on leave the house clothes, I feel committed now.

I’d be willing to bet Swampy has some of that too.

Spidey, what have you got against Garth Brookes? I’m not a big fan of a lot of his music, but I don’t dislike him, and I find his wife quite charming. She reminds me a great deal of some members of my family who are no longer with us.

Sahirnee, I’m with you about people leaving stuff the hell alone. Facebook keeps telling me that I need to update my soap business page or they’re gonna do it for me, but the stuff they’re gonna update it to is always completely wrong. :smack:

Tonight is another ‘International dinner night’ at one of our local upscale restaurants. It’s Argentinian steakhouse night. We went last year and had the best steak ever! So we’re going tonight.
(Hey, we didn’t get this size by accident!)

Sunny, glad you are feeling better.

swampy, since retiring, I’ve found clothes to be overrated, but I guess for church they are reasonable…

Mopped the kitchen floor after procrastinating for weeks, so in penance I did it twice over, so hopefully it looks good for awhile. Next chore to try and ignore is cleaning the wood floor in the living room, which means moving furniture, so I’m expecting further delays on my part…

Otherwise, outside of making sure the retirement check was in my account (it was), pretty much a lazy day. Did get my physical scheduled for the 14th–made up a note and hung it on my computer just to be sure.

Not only do I not have anything against him, I like his music & has a reminder set for next week for when tix go on sale to his upcoming local appearance. One of the fastest sellouts evah so I really hope to get some.

We shall see if the insurance people and AT&T believe if you are learning.

:dubious:

He plays country music. The only genre worse than that is rap, which isn’t even music.

Howdy Y’all! Home from Evening Prayer over to the church house. ‘Twas a good service even if sparsely attended tonight. Now I’m at da cave and out of bein’ in public clothes.

Speakin’ of Garth Brooks, I think this should be the MMP theme song.

Dishes are done and I had to undo a bunch of what I knitted yesterday because I couldn’t fix something I’d screwed up. So re-knittage shall occur.

Meanwhile, the evening is winding down and I’m starting to think of an early bedtime. I’s tahred…
