Another True Blood question - does Tara get any less annoying?

I’ve been eagerly watching Season 3 of True Blood and I’ve noticed a distinct pattern: every episode has Tara either pissed off, crying, but usually both. Is there any episode or point in the series in which she does not play the victim? If I see her lip quiver again, I think I’m going to reach through the screen and slap her.

Yes, I get it - she’s gone through a lot. But I’m so sick of seeing her cry. Tell me: does it get any better in the series, or is this pretty much her character’s purpose?

I’ve read most of the books and don’t recall her being so soppy.

I haven’t seen anything of the latest season, so I can’t say anything of that…but for what I have seen?

Nope. She actually gets worse as things progress, but even at her best, early on, she’s a drag.

If I was in charge of that show, which I enjoy, Tara would be the first casualty. I’ve seen through season 3 and she has been annoying all along.
Is it the way the character is written or how the character is acted?
Has anyone seen the actress in anything else?

In Episode 10 of Season 3, I said this:
"I started wondering if she was hired because she so good at making her lip quiver like that. She’s been doing it a lot. "
So, you’ve got a lot of it, at least up until that episode.

That’s too bad. Fortunately she’s not as prevalent a character in this season as she was in the last, but she’s still annoying enough that I can hardly watch any of the segments that involve her.

I don’t know if I’d kill her, but I’d definitely scale back her screen time so it more closely matched the book series. If this caused the actress to quit…well, that’d be a damn shame, wouldn’t it?

I’ve only slogged through three of the books, in which she was barely mentioned at all. I believe Tara is a character with the same name but has been totally remade for the show. I’m wondering when her hot lesbian friend is going to get pulled into the story, maybe if the ratings fall.

Haven’t read the books but pretty much everything about that actress either gets on my nerves or actually makes my skin crawl. Can’t explain it, just know it’s so.

Is it her acting, or the lines/persona the writers give her?

I haven’t seen any of the third season yet, but she sure annoyed me in the first two. It may be the acting, but the way whe talked and her delivery sure got on my nerves.
