I think he’s past that. His sentence was 21 months in prison and three years of supervised release, and that was in 2017.

He does seem perfect for the Trump cabinet; he has the two key qualifications: utter sleaze bag with proven sexual crimes in his past; and his appointment would so troll the libs.
Weiner would not even need to change parties; Trump could piously point to him as evidence that he (Trump) is trying to be the inclusive guy willing to appoint the best person regardless of party, but the Deep State criticizes him even when he does honorable things like cross the aisle to get the right candidate.

I’d be happy to see Franken and Weiner in elected office again. Any transgressions of theirs pale compare to what is being done on a daily basis these days.

Joking aside - I am amazed that he would put himself back in the public eye after such an embarrassing and public flame-out. I mean, wouldn’t someone in such a situation want to pursue some other line of work? After losing his job, his marriage, and punishment enough for his perverted antics, he wants to go back into politics? SMH
