AnthroCon 2009 - A Murry, Purry, Furry MMP!

Is that’s what’s left after they cut off the wings? :dubious: :stuck_out_tongue:

I managed to take a shower, but now I need to dry my hair with the blow dryer. Sometimes, I think it would be so much nicer if I could be a guy with a buzzcut. Just wash and go. It takes forever to dry my hair and then I have curl it a little, and then I run a straightner through it, flipping the straightner at end of the hank of hair. What a pain!

I should have made some coffee for myself this morning! I’m having trouble finding my get up and go!

Yay for the tongue feeling better. And yay for a weekend alone, taxi!

Glad the lunches went well, Pie.

Still no swampy? :frowning:

I’ve vacuumed, done a couple of work-related things, found a new wheeled back-pack (Yay for back-to-school at Tar-zhay! Did you know there’s such a thing as hot-pink camo? Not sure what it’s hiding among, but at least I won’t confuse it with someone else’s boring black backpack. And only $20.)

Gotta go find a dress to wear to the wedding. Otherwise, it’ll be what I wore to my Mom’s 80th, only with a different jacket.

Off to search some more…

Hugs. I know I missed a bunch.

GT

Where are you, bear??

I couldn’t get into the MPSIMS forum at all this morning. Anybody else have trouble?

And now I’m trying to get stuff done at work so Rosie’s Sig to all.

Tupug

Whew - what a week! Glad I’m home.

It’s starting to rain a wee bit - I hope we get a real shower or 2, but I fear we won’t. SIL’s mother is coming tomorrow for a boat ride - hope we have a little breeze so we can sail.

Gotta figger out what’s for supper tonight. It’d be perfect if the supper fairy delivered.

OK, who’s hiding the bear?!?

Home…drinking wine…watching Sex in the City…listening to the rain.

:Le Sigh:

Tired. Oatmeal for supper. Bed soon…

Well… Since you asked. I knew that there was purple camouflage. GilaMonster has been driving my car for quite awhile and needs to repair the headliner that her kids ripped before she returns it to me. Her brother-in-law is an upholstery guy so I asked her to find out if we could put in a purple headliner and I’d pay the difference in the material price. Apparently headliners must be a specific material and he’d never seen one in purple. I looked online and found purple camouflage headliner material. Um, no thanks. Even I am not that crazy. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I managed to accomplish a few things today. Gassed up the rig, took my daughter to the credit union to deposit several paychecks, took her down to the Dept of Licensing to renew her permit (damn it was crowded), stopped at Starbucks and picked up frosty treats for myself, my daughter and my son, and went over and had a mani/pedi done. My toes look quite nice now. I keep my fingernails very short, but had the clean up the cuticles and put on clear polish.

The best part of the pedi is sitting in the massaging chair and the massaging of the legs and feet. I could go to sleep!

I still need to do laundry and start packing for my TDY. I’m hoping to hit the mall either tomorrow or Sunday to pick up a new top or something. I still haven’t used my gift card.

We’re going to the Mongolian Grill for an early supper so my daughter can join us. She has to work at 5:00.

I had to take my work laptop home with me yesterday because I need to bring it along on my TDY. I tried to tell my boss that I wasn’t bringing it because I didn’t want to pay the wireless charges at the hotel, but he told me to bill it to my TDY costs. He wants me to bring it along because we’re having a meeting on budget estimates. Great…just what I want to spend my spare time doing on TDY, attending yet another meeting. Oh well, not much I can do about that.

I wasn’t planning on going out and partying it up every night or anything, but all the same, I did want to hit Riverwalk and go to Howl at the Moon, and maybe have a nice dinner too, along with a couple of adult beverages.

Meh, I’ll make the best of it. Hell, I’d have been happy sitting out by the pool soaking up some rays, with a frosty drink at my side.

I guess I should get a load of laundry going.

Woohoo! I think I finally fixed (largely by accident) whatever it was that has been causing my computer to constantly drop the connection to my home wireless network. Go me!

Spent all day yesterday sanding at my grandmother’s. LilBro and I are going to repaint her front porch (for 10 bucks an hour, hooray) and Step 1 was to sand off the old peeling paint… Man, my right arm is KILLING me. I foolishly volunteered to sand, by hand, all the banister uprights or whatever they’re called while LilBro used the powersander on the banisters themselves and the columns that support the roof. Five hours of sanding by hand in 85 to 90 degree weather with 75+ percent humidity… I think the two of us drank about three gallons of iced tea in the process. Damned if I didn’t earn my 50 bucks though.

Now I’m working on laundry and trying to get everything ready to go on vacation for a week, and then host company immediately after returning.
**
ems** - if accompanied by a cute guy/girl (depending on your preference) that could be really romantic. Otherwise… Well, actually it still sounds pretty nice, in a soothing sort of way.

Off to fold another load of laundry. Dinner will be whatever I am motivated enough to scavenge… And I’m not very motivated. Maybe some cereal? Whatever.

I want a nap.

Sounds like my kind of place! :3

Howl at the Moon is a blast! My face always hurts when I leave there because I spend so much time laughing.

It’s just a “dueling piano” type of bar, where they call people up and sing silly songs to them, pull others up to make them dance, and also play relevant, danceable music. There’s usually a guitar and drum set too.

Anyway, it’s lots of fun.

By the way, I miss you Swampy; I hope all is well.

Nope, it’s help in Pittsburg every year. See you in 2010! XD

Edit: First on 4! w00t!

there’s nothing like the end of the work day at the end of the work week.

but it is so freakin humid here, I could rehydrate an old crusty brittle sponge just by leaving outside.

Da Bear has been spotted! He just called me on my super-secret shoe phone to report that he has had no Internet service all week, and he’s ready to go medieval on his provider. ETA on repairs is sometime tomorrow morning.

He also said something about a lap dance involving a female… That leaves me in doubt that it really was Swampster calling. :dubious:

He was just trying to make you jealous,** Bobbio!**

At any rate, I’m glad he’s okay.

Glad to hear swampy is OK. If that was, indeed, swampy you talked to, Bobbio. ::Glares in the general direction of swampy’s ISP.::

This is deeply disappointing. Purple camo headliner would be awesome. Well…in someone else’s car anyway.

All that sanding sounds exhausting, Moonie. Wanna come to my house and do some more? I have some chairs and a table that I need to re-finish. Also, I need to paint my house exterior. Wanted to do it Memorial Day weekend-ish (it’s a teeny-tiny house; I’m sure I can paint it over a long weekend) but that’s when I took my surprise vacation in Paris.

It took forever, but I found a really cute dress to wear to my cousin’s wedding. Also found a cute blazer and shrug, so I think my wardrobe is taken care of.

In the less mundane department, don’t know if any of you have seen the thread I started about my cousin’s little boy. The little guy has been diagnosed with bone cancer. :frowning: My cousin is the oldest brother of the cousin who’s getting married next week. So, of course, the whole family is stewing about what to do for the little boy at the same time that we’re getting ready to celebrate a wedding. By the way, how is it that all of my youngest cousins are getting married? They’re all just babies. (There’s a 40-year gap between my oldest cousin and my youngest on that side of the family. The groom is my second-youngest cousin.)

So, I guess I need to get some travel prep stuff done around here and then get back to work. I need to write some stuff up that I promised my boss I’d finish before I took off. Maybe I can finish it while watching a movie or something.

Back later.

Sad, but ironic

Had a few big storms come through tonight. They knocked down a tree in my store’s parking lot, and took out the parking lot lights at the Kroger up the street.

rosie, I grew up watching him.
I’ll keep your cousin in my prayers, gt.

I see crazy things too, when I go through Internet withdrawal.

Moonie, cool!

Keeping your cousin in my prayers, GT; hope that they will find the right treatment.

Glad to hear that Swampy is okay, although his ISP needs some attitude adjustment, apparently. And thanks for letting us know, BBBBobbio!

I am so very glad that the weekend is finally here. My boss has been on paternity leave this week (his wife had their second child on 6/29); I know when he comes back that he’ll be bringing me a huge document to work on. So I’m wishing that my weekend would just continue!

Sad about Walter Cronkite.

And Rosie’s sig all around!

Catching up on the last few posts:

Lighting a candle for your cousin, gt. Little kids are very resilient when it comes to cancer. It doesn’t seem to hit them as hard emotionally as it does adults. Give the little fella a hug for me.

Good to know swampy hasn’t fallen off the face of the Earth. I thought he’d been quiet over in Agony Aunt territory lately.

We had an experience at work tonight. A crazy guy came in and rambled about how important it was that the name on the sign was right because if the letters were out the name was wrong and the sign is important, man. Life in Hippy Hollow is certainly interesting.

And yes, I enjoyed working with Cute Guy tonight. I think we could be friends. Friends is good, better than More Than Friends I think. That way things don’t get as complicated. Although I do still get a flutter whenever he hovers nearby. Oh, it’s been too long since I’ve had a crush.

Now it’s get the hell in the shower and sleep time.

Up after a long lie in where I got up earlier then went back to bed.

Now to clean up the pig sty that is the current state of my apartment to make it a more sanitary place to live in
