No, not according to the customer reviews on the Heritage House website. The kids don’t give two shits about the hard plastic ones, but the soft ones…now that’s an entirely different story. Apparently this customer uses them for teaching abstinence because of the correlation, you know, between the foam fetus and a low teenage pregnancy rate.

After using the harder plastic ‘Young One’ in my abstinence classes in the public schools, I am really thankful for this newer “Precious One” which feels so life-like in comparison. The students often ‘tossed’ the harder plastic models as they passed it to the person next to them—but these Precious Ones feel so different, I have yet to have a student to not ‘respect’ them like they were real. Thanks for this newer model.

Some people feel that the position of the Catholic Church is truly pro-life because, in addition to being against abortion, they are also against the death penalty and most wars, and they support a social safety net to care for the kids born when you ban abortion (and birth control). Most US anti-abortion types have no problem with the death penalty or aggressive war, and are very much against welfare and food stamps, and anything that makes it easier for a person in bad circumstances to raise a child, so they don’t seem very pro-life, more pro-fetus.

Obviously you can argue the Catholic Church isn’t pro-life either, and there’s plenty to support that, but at least they aren’t such flaming hypocrites about the whole thing.

Putting aside the notion that a group generally gets to pick its own name. I mean in their minds, they are protecting life, in your minds you are protecting choice.

I would say anti-choice sets off all sorts of alarms. I would feel the same way about people that refer to pro-choice as baby-killers (and a lot of them do).

Anti-abortion is probably more neutral but like I said, I generally think they should be called what they want. I mean after all, we have all come around to calling the tea-baggers the tea party, right?

Anti-choice is what you’ll get when I become Queen.

This fetus doll does not even mention abortion, and is a natural, positive stage of every human’s development, not a horrific situation that it is reasonable that a parent would want to hide from young children. Quit being a moron and at least try to argue in good faith.

Myself, I am against abortion. I’m also a vegetarian who does volunteer work with a group that tries to preserve natural habitats in my community. I’m a doctor and I’d like to think that sometimes I have helped born people stay alive. Oh, and I am a female too. I am no less concerned about non-fetal life than any other person.

About half of the American public identifies as pro-life. I don’t think there are very many stereotypes that accurately apply to half the population (but then again, people do that all the time in stereotyping men vs. women so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised).

I was nodding along until you mentioned Gosnell. Then the whole post seemed super dumb.

If you don’t like being insulted by the other side, perhaps you shouldn’t compare the people who want safe abortions with that monster. Just a thought.
