I think glee’s confusion indicates why the OP thinks there are Brits who claim we’re not part of Europe. We are, and inescapably so, though I for one would support a programme to detach the island from our continental shelf and park us somewhere near the Canary Islands. Anything to get us out of the ghastly sleet and hail we had today.
Hah. Some of us just had a half-hour of rain.

Another EuroDoper checking in (if I count as a real Doper with my pitiful post count). In fact, I’m not even an English speaker. Or at least that’s what I say to excuse my constant deluge of typos and brainfarts.
The Eurovision song contest participants are from countries that are full members of the European Broadcasting Union, which is unrelated to the European Union. As such, some countries’ participation has nothing to do with them being European. In fact, it’s not limited to Israel, even Libya is a member. Maybe they just haven’t been too interested in sending in any participants.
Oh, and yes, living in Denmark. Originally Norwegian.

gum, Coldfire, Arwin and I are the Holland-based Dutch Dopers currently active. Actually, there are quite a few Dutch Dopers currently living in Ireland or the USA.
I’ve been thinking for a while now to start a thread about cultural and social differences between the Netherlands and the USA. Differences I have noticed even on this board. If I do, I’ll post a link to it here.

Um I would be one of them - born and raised actually near Maastricht (the city not the Doper) but currently living in Kensington, MD (just outside DC-beltway). Only for a few more months though, then my visa will expire and I will have to move overseas

And there is at least one(me) Irish Doper living in Amsterdam, well at least for another month there will. Then it’s back to little olde Dublin.
Present. Italian Doper - and as far as I’m aware, the only one. But I live in the UK now.
