And, if so, list 1) the years you participated, 2) how far your team advanced, and 3) any medals won.

Going first…

  1. 2001-2003
  2. Never left the locals.
  3. Around a dozen medals: two apiece in 2001 and 2002, and around eight or so in 2003, including a Super Decathlete (Silver) medal.

  2. State both times where we would get slaughered every time. Texas is super competitive and who ever wins it usually becomes national, unless California has a good team. We’d always go in ranked around 15th and end up falling ten places because most of us concidered state as a school paid hotel party. But damn was it fun losing horribly.
  3. Around 8 the first time and 10 the second at regionals. 1 at State for social sciences. Of course, when I tell you that I only competed against other C students it seems a whole lot less impressive. Actually reading the material puts you far above most other c students. Still, at regionals I beat the second placed B student at regionals. She later became my wife. I never let her forget that fact.
