Any interest in a D.C.-area Dopefest?

Even non-beer stuff notwithstanding, it appears to be a bar, and bars are in the habit of carding, in my experience. I haven’t the foggiest what the place’s policy is on folks under 21. Anyone here know?

Yeah, dwalin – Jimmy’s was part restaurant, so you could be in there and not have to be 21. Brickskellar might be different. Someone (me, if no one else) will check for you.

Brickskeller is definitely a restaurant as well as a beer saloon, so I’d presume that underage folks can get in, they just can’t buy alcohol. No biggie.

I couldn’t find anything on their website that says you have to be 21 to get in.

I might be home on leave then. If so, could I attend?

I probably won’t show up before 9:00 or so, so no later than that.

My favorite restaurant in D.C. is Zaytinya’s. No idea if I’ll be in D.C. for a Dopefest, but if I am or ain’t it’s a place you should consider- moderate price, GREAT food and I’m told a good wine and beer and liquor list.

I liked Zaytinka the couple of times I’ve been there (before going to a movie at the E Street Cinema). That neighborhood is the most expensive in the D.C. area. It’ll be easier if you can take the Metro there, since parking is expensive. I shudder a little when I think that meals there at around $20 to $25 are considered moderate in price.

There was a family there with a kid while I was there a while back, so I don’t think it’ll be a big deal.

I’ll discuss it with hubby this evening. Even though I’m having to do the no alcohol thing for a while, I’m sure I could find something to drink, and just talk and hang out and stuff!

Norine, I would LOVE to see you! I hope you can make it.

I’d love to see you, too! I’m really hoping it works out.

So are we looking at a dinner thing, or a drinks thing? Either? Both?

Brickskeller has decent enough pub fare (very tasty onion rings), but if you wanted real food, I really can’t attest either way.

They’ve got great burgers and other sorts of sandwiches. And darts. And beer.

What, no poker? I’m out…

With the way my luck has been running lately…

Sounds like you need to come play in Reston some Wednesday or Friday…

It’s been a long time since I’ve been there, but I believe the Brickskellar offers several full dinners. I can check this out, maybe tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I’m without a car in the world…

I’ve never been to a DopeFest before.

Can I be a part of the in-crowd, too?
