Really bummed out, but I can’t make it either.
Misnomer, are you still planning on being at Summit Point on Friday?
Nope – a couple of weeks ago I explained why in this post in your “ask the driving instructor” thread. Basically I’m moving in 2 weeks and will be needing a lot of leave for that, so I can’t afford a day off this week. I’ll try for one of the September or October Seat Times, though, and I got my registration packet from FATT for November 3rd. ![]()
You still goin’ to the Brickskeller on Saturday?
Sorry, I forgot.
But I’ll be at the Brick. See you all there.
Should we—that is, should I—call 'em on Friday or summat and let them know we’ll be bringing a decent-sized group on Saturday evening? Probably a good idea. So I can get a head count, can y’all e-mail me (address is in the profile) if you’re planning to come, and tell me how many significant others, children, neighbors, etc. you’ll be bringing in tow?
At this point, I don’t know if I will or will not be coming. I’m back in the area for a week or three, but this weekend’s plans are still entirely up in the air. I probably won’t know for sure until I head for metro or don’t.
If I come, I’ll be with at least one other person. If not, I will still be with one other person, but elsewhere:)
Okay…including myself, I’ve got RSVPs so far for four people.
So e-mail me at the address in my profile and let me know whether you’ll be coming and how many you’ll be bringing in tow, or else the four of us are gonna have a grand old time at a single table.
We’re up to ten!
So how will we all find each other? Will there be a “special” table in a designated part of the bar or something?
FWIW, I’m a short, fat brunette who looks like this (I’m the girl). I will mostly likely be in jeans, sandals, and a black t-shirt. ![]()
Tradition is to ask for the “Cecil Adams” party.
Excellent…looks like this thing is a go. I think we should do it in the upstairs portion of the Brickskeller rather than the basement, since that’s where the darts and long tables and such are. I have to wait until 6 pm to make a reservation, because that’s when the restaurant opens. But if y’all show up around 8 or so and head upstairs, you should be able to find the group. And if you can’t, as Scuba Ben says, ask for the Cecil Adams party!
Okay if I drop by?
Absolutely!
Of course, I can only speak for myself…
I’m not quite feeling up to making the journey downtown, so I’m afraid I’m going to have to bow out. I’ll keep an eye out for whatever’s going on in September, although it’s looking to be a pretty busy month for me.
It looks like I just emailed Nomer instead of everybody:
*The one time I was at Brickskeller, we sat in the downstairs area. It
was a little tight where we were, but I believe that getting there
earlier, we’ll be able to get a larger section of the downstairs.
Upstairs probably won’t work if it’s the smoking section, as my wife
(El Perro Fumando) is a bit sensitive to smoke.
We’ll see how smoky smoking is.*
Dude, you’re the only one I knew I would recognize!

Sorry you’re not feeling up to it … hopefully you’ll find a calm spot for whatever’s going to happen next month.
Gadarene, I think we have one word for you: Duuude.
(Ok, one word and a smiley, but you get the idea.)
Scuba_Ben, Licentious Ectomorph, Larry Borgia, commasense, Dan (I think!), Only Mostly Dead, and El Perro Fumando and I had a good time – and lots of good beer – despite your absence.
Standard, sort-of-worried disclaimer that I hope nothing serious kept you from joining us.
By whom you mean Emilio Lizardo?
We did have a grand old time
And here’s proof
[sub]Yeah, it was my fault the flash was off :-([/sub]
And for the record, the onion rings were quite good.
