The play is very dark from what I understand, so please do read about it before purchasing a ticket. I will keep everyone involved updated with the plans for the show as time passes. If you are planning on going send me your email address and put SDMB in the subject of your message (my email is in my profile.)
Oh, that’s so very sweet of you! But I’m afraid with finances being what they are, a plane/train or even bus ride would be irresponsibly foolish.
Now, if someone has a few gazillion extra frequent flyer miles they want to donate to the Help WhyNot Feel Like a Dirty Ol’ Mrs. Robinson fund, then we might be talkin’!
Orchestra/Front Mezz seats for most shows range from $96.50-121.25, Rear Mezz/Balcony (depending on the theatres) range from $25-70. Of course, unless it’s a super smash hit like Wicked or Jersey Boys, there will be many discounts available so good seats in the Orchestra are usually around $50-75. Though Equus is going to be a pretty big deal so they may not even need to have discounts and I’m sure it will still sell out…
Since I am planning on seeing this show anyway, put me down as a Yes for now, but if there ends up being no discounts I may have to pass or try for a rush seat (if they’ll offer it.)
If you need help in getting details on tickets and things, let me know. I read all the Broadway boards & sites each day so I’m up on all the current news.
If I can stay over with somebody, it only costs me 30$ + food to travel from Boston. Oh wait, September? I have no clue where I’m going to be then. Time will tell.
That is not bad. I was afraid we might be talking $200 or so for a ticket and that’s a bit out of my price range. Around $100 is manageable; I mean, I want to go to dinner and stuff too,
I am really surprised but pleased that Zebra is coming.
Annie-Xmas
Anaamika
pbbth
Boggette
Zebra
Eyebrows of Doom
and possibly Autolycus depending on where he is in Sept and the possibility for sleeping arrangements.
I have received emails so far from Annie-Xmas and Anaamika. If the rest of the people who are interested would be so kind as to drop me an email I will add you to the list and keep you up to date on the progress of the Naked Daniel Radcliffe Dopefest.
I’m glad to see you on the list too Zebra! Honestly I don’t know if it will increase your chances of anything other than hearing about Potter’s schlong, but only time will tell.
You know that there is a whole play being presented with other people and they talk and stuff. It’s not just the Daniel Radcliff’s naughty bits show.
Later, there could be the Zebra naught bits show, if you’re lucky.
It’s also, as has been pointed out already, a very dark show. Seriously dark. Sexual abuse and torturing of animals dark. That said, it’s a *great *show, but *Godspell *it ain’t. You would probably not want to take your grandmother to this show, ‘swhat I’m sayin’.
Yes, I am aware. I just meant that us ladies might make a crude comment or two. Or not, as the situation may warrant. But there is a possibility of commentary from the peanut gallery.
Very lucky indeed. Wait, you meant you, right, and not an actual zebra? Because I am not down with ungulate peep shows.
Just so everyone has a little more information about the play, here is the wikipedia link. Be forwarned that it goes into a good bit of detail about the show so some plot points are revealed but it will give you an overview of the play.
Here is a review from Reuters for those people who would be interested in how the play went over in the UK.
All you Emma Watson fans are finally getting your day too, thanks to the latest paparazzi photos of her. It’s no head to toe nakedness, but still enough that I can’t post a direct link.
I know it seems like such a double standard, because while I have no interest in seeing Eqqus at all, I’d love to attend a Doperfest based around watching some girl naked on stage. In all seriousness, I still haven’t met any of you (aside from my girlfriend who almost NEVER posts here) and there are a lot of you hanging around my town. I just have a good feeling I wouldn’t fit in for THIS type of event…
Interest is not an issue. I would dearly love to see the show. The naked Radcliffe show that is, the play itself sounds interesting but hardly compares.
Sadly, I don’t think I can justify a trip from LA to NYC just to see that one show. Have fun guys!
