I’m another San Bernardino resident, but lord knows I have no problem heading into L.A. on a halfway regular basis. Although I haven’t yet had a chance to put a decent body print in JavaMaven1 and JustPlainBryan’s new sofa bed. I need to fix that.
Oh, and y’all should come to the Getty museum on Saturday, August 2nd. They’ve hired my renaissance performance troupe to entertain that day. And it’s free!
Checking in as another SoCal Doper about 30 minutes away from LA itself and sdoon moving to Long Beach.
Haven’t been to any dopefests mainly cuz people don’t know me and driving is an issue (I’m still scared of fire hydrants)
But college is coming soon and with it freedom in case anyone was planning anything
I’m in LA as well, I live in Westwood right now, but I’m moving across the 405 to a nice little (very little) apartment in Brentwood (yes Brentwood, aparently I’m high class - although from the looks of my apt. it should be located in Pacoima) anyway, never been to a fest but I might if it sounds fun
I live in Gardena, in the southern part of the county, maybe 10, 15 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.
The Metro Red Line, a subway, runs from Union Station (Amtrak) at the east end; the station is across Alameda Street from historic Olvera Street. The subway has stops down the block from Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, and across Hollywood Boulevard from the Pantages Theatre; it runs under the Santa Monica Mountains and has a stop just outside Universal Studios (where you can go on a tour); and it currently ends in the southeast part of North Hollywood, which is in the San Fernando Valley (remember Bing Crosby’s song?), in the “NoHo” theater district.
The new Metro Gold Line, which also begins at Union Station, will open soon; it’s similar to the old Red Car Pasadena line, and it runs into downtown Pasadena and ends in Sierra Madre, near the Santa Anita racetrack.
I live near the “Home Depot” arena, built near Cal State University at Dominguez Hills. There’s supposed to be a soccer game there soon between Mexico and El Salvador teams.
One of these days we’ll get our new website up and running. Until then, we’re an italian commedia troupe that has left Italy to travel the world performing. We didn’t exactly leave by choice. But that’s a long story.
We’ll be doing a stage show, but spending most of the time just interacting with the patrons. And yes, we do comedy. At least we like to think so. Hopefully other people think so too.
And Fairy Princess Kitty? I didn’t know anyone at my first dopefest either. Don’t let that stop you, I’ve made some damn good friends from here.
