Very few people expect us to be open, so there aren’t many calls. This leaves me with some free time, which ideally I could use to get something done, but unfortunately most of the people I’d like to be calling are closed too. Such is life.
Milo, at least you do get New Year’s Day off. I don’t, but I don’t imagine many people here expect to get much out of me that day anyway.
Working Wed. thru Sunday this week, how the hell did I get so lucky???
Drove about 100 miles today, saw 6 home health patients, and hey dwyr, I dropped off some blood draws at the local hospital lab (I assume that’s where you work). Avoided the malls like the plague, but still managed to get caught in crazy traffic. Made it home in time to nap a bit, and now I wait for the fax to spew out my schedule for tomorrow.
I did a little bit of work today. Remodel on a home. I’m contracting it and doing about half the work myself. Since no one else was going to be there today, I took the opportunity for a little touch up on the tile work without any interruptions. Then, I went shopping for some tools! Hahahahahaha! Then, I played. Does any of that count?
At a library. It was great having a break from the constant phone calls, interruptions, etc. so I could chip away at my mountain of paperwork. Trouble is, most of it’s dreary, never-ending stuff. I made a lot of progress but it didn’t feel like it because it never really goes away off my desk. It’s just more caught up. Somehow I can never count that as “getting done” because it never is.
The rest needed some sort of outside contact with City Hall–which was closed.
Sigh. I’m just gritching. It was actually a pretty productive day; it just didn’t seem to make enough difference.
Well, I worked TGday. And Friday. I’ll also be working through Xmas and NY. Someone has to keep the oil flowing. We do get as much fried turkey as we can gobble down though.
