Didn’t somebody decide that there was no Cecil Adams, that it was some other guy named Cecil Adams who writes the Straight Dope and…I’m confused.
Several people have opinions on this one. The most widely held opinion is that yes, there’s a Cecil. He exists as certainly as you or I do.
However, another widely held opinion is that the name “Cecil Adams” is a pseudonym. You see, Cecil Adams is a “reclusive genius.” He likes his personal privacy. After hanging around these boards for a while, I understand why. (Just kidding! I love you all!)
Some folks think Ed Zotti is Cecil. Personally, I don’t. I’d like to know the real story, someday. But it’s not high on my list of priorites. I just keep on believing that there’s a Cecil. Of course, the fact that someone with the username “Cecil Adams,” who had “administrator” under that name welcomed me to the board as well just reinforces everything I’ve believed all along.
Anyone realize that that was Cecils first post to MPSIMS. Cecil get back in her you DID NOT welcome me!!! Pardon me while I pound my head into sheetrock.
