I know guests’ post counts don’t show; any way for members to do so? After a decade my count is getting ridiculously large, I confess, and I’d rather not see it all the time.
Display of posts is controlled by Usergroup.
In this version of vB it’s a function turned on or off, period. It’s not a user controlled function.
Display of posts is turned on for Members/Charter Members.
Display of posts is turned off for Guests.
I can’t see to verify this but I don’t think we can turn this off for you without turning it off for everyone else that’s in your Usergroup.
Sorry we’re not more help.
Sock up and start over.
Elendil Heir’s Heir?
Ooo, it’s almost tempting…
And thanks, Tuba.
Or just let your membership lapse?
Post in reverse to bring it back down.
Or you could all of us to agree that we don’t want to see our post counts any more.
I guess you should’ve thought of that before you made those forty-eight thousand, two hundred one posts, shouldn’t you?
I could follow you around and quote all of your posts with “+1”.
Not because I agree with you, just to remind you that it’s adding to your post count.
Heir’s Spare
Simple enough to make a new usergroup — done it a dozen times; still simpler to put a user in a different usergroup.
Whether it is worth it for one person is different, but personally I probably would, even though I would regard the high number as a badge of pride.
Do you think that’s likely?
I suggest we call his usergroup “48,201 and counting.”
We could start deleting his posts from the beginning. However, it might take us a few years to make much of a dent.
Probably not…but if it were put to a vote I wouldn’t mind either resetting them, or even getting rid of post counts altogether.
I seem to recall somebody resetting their post count some time in the distant past…
After checking mine That certainly is a ridiculous amount of posts.
Anybody with more than 40K worth of posts is obviously a total loser with zero social skills. I think we should ban them, for their own good.
Look at it this way** Elendil**
48201 posts, assume 5 minutes each.
48201 x 5 = 241005 minutes.
/60 = 4016.75 hours
/24 = 167.36 days.
Hope this helps some
Tough crowd, tough crowd…
In my defense, a lot of those posts are single words, in games.
