I do believe my post count went down after I bought my membership. I seem to remember it being in the high 9,000’s, and it’s now in the low 9,000’s.
Am I imagining things, or did that really happen?

While we’re on the subject of post counts, can I tack on a question?
Is it possible (without hacking the software) to make the displaying of post counts optional (i.e. something that can be turned off in the User CP) - I’d rather not have mine on display.
You really think 14,000 posts is more embarrassing than “The Kingdom of Butter”?
That’s two!
Not embarrassing, but sometimes inconvenient; on more than one occasion I’ve had the “you’re picking on me because I’m a newbie, you think you’re soooo smart just because you have a large post count” thing. I don’t see it as terribly relevant and I’d rather people took or rejected my posts on their own merit (or lack thereof).
14,000 is not so bad. But 15,000 — that disgusting. I couldn’t imagine the shame.
Bah. I’m proud of each and every one of my 9,000+ posts (well, except that one…). I’m hoping not to lose any of them, hence the OP.
Tuba? Lynn? Anyone?

I believe my post count has also dropped, though only by ten or twenty or so. At least you know you are not alone, Esprix!
I think mine went up, but I can’t be sure.
Maybe I got your posts.
Due to a variety of glitches and irregularities, the listed post count and other statistics provided by the Board are usually not accurate. If, for instance, a few of your posts have been deleted for some reason, that might not have been immediately reflected in your listed post count. I would not be surprised if there were some sort of reindexing at the time of the subscription upgrade, in which case the current numbers would be accurate (or at least, more accurate).
For the past few weeks I’ve been watching my post count approach the 2,000 mark. And so I watched carefully as it hit 1,999. Then, I crowed about my 2,000th post in this thread only now to be embarrassed that the system chose that very post to reset me back 40 posts.
Argh.
It’s no big deal, just chagrinning.
Peace.
I keep hearing this stuff about newbies being picked on, but I have yet to see an example of it. I’m not doubting you, but do you have a cite? When I was a newbie I was more aware of the fact than any poster ever made me feel.

[sup]By the way, were you picking on them?[/sup]

I can’t find any cites at the moment, as the search function doesn’t appear to be fully indexed; I’ll just have to ask you to take my word for it - I’m not even sure what I’d search for if it was working properly.
I wasn’t picking on them; (who me?) if I remember rightly, it’s usually just an overreaction to the kind of response received and that the newbie doesn’t understand the way this board works with regard to factual information etc
