Jon Stewart, you made me laugh when you were on the Daily Show and greatly influenced my political thinking, but ***please ***get the fuck out of WWE!
It’s being reported that Sasha has been pulled from the listings for all shows until September 23rd.
I smell a Wellness suspension incoming.
One site is reporting Sasha needs time of due to injury.
Well, I think I’m going to call it a night. I’m burned out on wrestling for a while.
Grazts Finn.
They have to have been extremely happy with Finn Balor’s performance at NXT, doing everything they ever asked of him, to have his very first WWE (main roster) match be the main event of Summer Slam (the #2 PPV) where he wins the big gold.
Jesus, that last angle was stupid. How is Roman the babyface here?
I don’t know how you end with that match unless you’re planning for the blood to ruin the ring.
Should have put Finn-Rollins last.
I’m guessing the match was supposed to continue but either Orton got busted open worse than they were expecting him to, or Brock legitimately ran out of fucks to give and started shooting. It was probably going to end with Brock winning and then attacking Shane anyway (I imagine they’ll have a HIAC match at an upcoming PPV.)
I read that Rainmaker Okada was backstage for the show, probably at Finn’s invitation. I was kinda hoping to see him come out and congratulate Finn on his victory, but I doubt Vince would allow another promotion’s champion to appear on his show unless he was planning to sign him.
I was kinda holding out hope that at the last moment, they’d realize how stupid the WWE Universal Title sounds, and they’d just bring back the World Heavyweight Title in the form of the Big Gold Belt.
Instead, we’ve got three titles (if you include the Women’s Title) that look pretty much the same.
Considering that the crowd reaction pretty much consisted of the fans ignoring the match and heckling the belt instead, I won’t be surprised if they change it sooner than later.
Finn Balor had his arm in a sling backstage after his match. Word is his shoulder was hurt when Rollins did that small package driver move. Balor is going to get the shoulder checked out today but the fear is that surgery is required.
Somewhere Bret Hart is screaming “I told you so!”
So wtf else do you do with Brock now?
I can’t really see a path forward to using him in any way that justifies his high pay, low number of dates, violating a wellness policy their other talent is held to and constantly going off script.
I believe the second part of this more than the first.
They need to tell Sasha to quit being so damn reckless in the ring. I love the flippy-shit and the reckless stuff, but she doesn’t do it well enough to merit it. She’s honest-to-God one or two matches away from seriously effing herself up
I’m certainly glad they didn’t! I was tired as hell and that was the only match I cared about
I thought this was dumb as well. I don’t care if you hate the belt, pay attention to the match goddammit. Nothing pisses me off more than stupid fans taking control over a match for their own goddamn amusement.
I honestly don’t know. His schtick is almost boring to me. I know he’s going to win, I know he’s going to just do 1000 suplex’s and then go home. Every match of his has underwhelmed. Either have him lose and create a story, or just let him go be alone in Canada.
Same page with Brock. I honestly don’t give a shit about him or his matches. Even during the match all I could think of is that Vince absolutely worships the man and some sort of sexual thing is going on backstage.
Sincerely hope Balor wasn’t injured. Rollins is going to play in the midcard for a long time if that happened after injuring Cena the last time.
One of the rumors going around is that virtually the entire Smackdown Women’s roster is going to be suspended for Wellness violations. I hope that isn’t remotely true.
My thoughts on the PPV:
Note to WWE: the second syllable of Concord, California rhymes with “word” and not “board.” You might want to remember that the next time you’re in the Bay Area.
Speaking of which, I wonder what the women already in the ring were saying to each other when they announced Eva Marie’s reason for not being there. Almost needless to say, the words “suspension” and “wellness” were not mentioned, although they could have said that she was taking a “wellness break from the fans.”
And how soon before there’s some sort of “accident” with the Smackdown Title - er, uh, existing WWE World belt that causes them to replace it with one that’s blue?
Well, we know it won’t involve the Blue Meanie because JBL is on that show.
Aw, shoot…
He didn’t have the sling when he was on GMA this morning, so hopefully it’s not too bad.
Incredibly dumb matches with incredibly dumb endings. Cena does another job. Charlotte regains her title, like we’re not going to see that again. There was a match for the World Heavyweight Championship, anyone remember that one?
