Anybody got new Dyson handheld vacuum?

We love our regular Dyson vacuum cleaner. Now they’ve come out with a handheld, designed on the same principal, the Root 6.

I don’t doubt it has good suction, but it weighs 3.4 lbs and looks way too large and cumbersome to be useful. Plus it only runs six minutes on a charge (they claim).

Anybody got one yet? What do you think?

Six minutes on a charge? Dang, that’s worse than an iPod!

Frankly, I’ve seen the thing and picked one up at a store, but thought it to be too bulky and cumbersome, not to mention expensive. The rotten battery life cinches it. Sounds like it’s better thought of as a proof-of-concept than a viable product.

OTOH, I’ve got a Dyson Animal in the closet and it’s not too hard to roll it over to whatever needs cleaning.

Yes we’ve had one for about six months now. I don’t find it too bulky or cumbersome but I must admit it is annoying when it cuts out in the middle of a whip around. I do find it better than the dustbuster I had in the past and easier to use than dragging out the upright Dyson.

Yes, have one since they first came out in the summer. It’s really useful for spills and the quickest possible run-around.

It’s not that heavy: remember, you can only use it for a few minutes at a time. To be honest, if you keep it for small jobs, you can get it done easily before the battery goes.

Not exactly a must-have purchase, but a million times better than the older-style Dustbuster: the suction is really good.
