I vaguely recall submitting a claim of some sort about two years ago for some sort of price-fixing/bundling/antitrust thing that the state of California had against Microsoft.
If anyone else here remembers this, care to fill me in on why I got a check from them in today’s mail?
Oh yeah, if you do remember what it’s about, watch your mailbox.
Wait, you got a check? All I got was a voucher. And, the criteria it gave for qualifying for the check didn’t match the information I gave them, so I’m thoroughly confused.
Dang, when I read the thread title I had a mental image of a bunch of deranged hippies living in a heavily-computerised commune and chanting praises to Bill Gates.
Yep, got mine yesterday. I have a $77 credit due me. I recently bought a wireless keyboard/mouse so I’m going to send them that receipt and they’ll send me a check for the value and another voucher for the difference.
It’s about damn time. Been at least a year since I submitted the info on the class-action site. http://www.microsoftcalsettlement.com/
Maybe this was something else, then. My recollection of this thing was that they were to send out vouchers, and the brief letter that came with it mentioned vouchers, but there was a real live check.
Who knows? Class action settlements can take ages to be distributed. I once got a small check out of the blue for some sort of action against an auto insurance company. The kicker was that I’d sold the car five years earlier, and hadn’t owned a car since then.
I got my voucher too…and the weird thing is that it came to my new address here in Texas, where I moved to in May from California. Not sure how they figured out I moved… $32! Woohoo!
