This is inspired by another thread about hairy chests, and I just can’t quite find it right this second. But anywho, I’m a pretty hairy guy. I don’t like being hairy but what can you do about genetics. I’ve been shaving my chest lately at the request of Mrs. Fallfast. She likes me better this way and so do I. I’ve tried Nair and Wax and I don’t like either of those.
Does anybody have any experience with laser hair removal, first hand or first hand or from others. Any perspective would be appreciated.
Fallfast
I have no experience with laser hair removal. However, I considered it, but the information on this site: Hairfacts: Laser Hair Removal changed my mind.
It is, IMHO, one of the most impartial, factual sites on the web regarding hair removal (it covers all techniques, not just laser). Unlike 98% of other sites on the matter, they have no interest in selling you anything–just informing you.
I printed all the info on laser removal for my future reference. It also includes a questionnaire for the esthetician/technician to complete so you know exactly what to expect from them.
I did it.
I am pleased with the results thus far. It has been a year now.
I was an ideal candidate:
very fair skin with dark hair.
I had my underarms and bikini area done.
I hated having to shave every day.
I really want to get my legs done. It is such a pain in the ass to shave everyday.
Because I do have darker hair, any growth is obvious.
so, to me, it was worth it.
even if the hair grows back eventually.
even if it grows back lighter.
The way I see it, if you want the hair gone for a good while, its the only way to go. Waxing and shaving become tiresome.
It does feel like a rubberband snapping. the worst area was in the middle of the underarm. It did sting. The best thing to do if you do go for it is to use a topical anesthetic before hand to numb the surface.
