Anyone used Laser Hair Removal?

Just wondering if anyone has used this successfully. I have looked it up online but want some subjective opinions from those who have had it done. There is a salon near my house which is offering a discount on the procedure and I’m contemplating having my bikini line done. My skin is sensetive, so shaving is a lesson in torture and why would I pay to wax for the rest of my life if I can get rid of it forever! (I don’t trust myself to wax my nether regions). How many sessions did it take? Did it hurt or cause any unwanted side effects? Everyone, do tell about your personal grooming habits  - Thanks, Quazi Daughter

I had it done a few years back and it was totally not worth the money. For what it cost me for a course of six ineffective treatments I could’ve had the areas in question waxed once a month for nine years.

Looking for opinion? IMHO. Moved.

I have heard both sides - that is is not effective at all, and that it is quite effective. The theory is sound - the laser heating up the hair follicles to kill them, but not the surrounding skin. I will probably try it myself someday when I can afford to risk it - I have very light skin and very dark hair, making me a great candidate.

You should look into Intense Pulsed Light for hair removal. It’s 5 visits, and expensive, but it’s done at the doctor’s office I work in and I haven’t heard any complaints. I’ve thought of having it done- for 1/3 of the price because I’m an employee, but then my 16 year-old just had to have a new graphics card, but maybe next year.

Whether you go with laser or IPL, I’d advise that you have it done not at the strip mall but a board-certified dermatologist’s office. Almost every derm has things like this nowadays and it’s safer, IMO.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I would be doing it at a spa, and my coworker is has decided to get it done so I will send her in as the guinea pig. I’ll wait to see if she got good service and whether she had good results. We are fairly similar in colouring so hopefully what works for her will work for me too.
