I was off Sat. through Mon., but now I must work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and two days after that. The newspaper, like an oil rig, doesn’t shut down for the holidays.
You guys should have Boxing Day - most businesses here are closed on Dec. 26.

I’m one of the working schmucks this week-- every day except Christmas.
Oh, and I work all next week too 
I had today off, and have tomorrow off (a municipal job as a couple of perks…). I worked Monday, and I’ll work Thursday & Friday.
Next week is even better. I’m working Monday, then off the rest of the week, for the holiday and the NYC Dopefest.

I took the past few days off so I can celebrate with my family over the weekend, but I’m right back to work on Thursday, and working through until the 30th, when I get a few days off for New Year’s. Luckily, I don’t have an exact time schedule, just a list of stuff I need to have done by the 30th (so I could possibly just do everything in 2-3 days and take the rest off).
Christmas Day will be Day #10 of a 13-day stretch without a day off. My admitting day falls on Christmas, which means I’ll be at the hospital from 7:00AM to 10:00PM.
Saturday, though, I’ll be going in, signing over my patients, and then CrazyCatLady and I will be heading off to New Orleans for the wedding!

Well, I had planned to take today off, but a special order counter top had finally been delivered to one of our jobs late yesterday, so my business partner and I decided to go ahead and install it today. Got it all done, too. Nearly froze my feet off looking for the water main in the snow. (Had to shut off water to install new sink, you see.)
But, the homeowner fed us yummy stuff and we got home in time to kick back, partner with his wife and new baby; me with my cuzn’s and some friends.
Tomorrow should be fun. Today wasn’t bad, really.
We’re in continuous operation, so we get NO holidays off ( unless your days off coincidentally falls on one, nobody in my section except the boss gets straight weekends off, I get F/S right now and starting in two weeks I’ll be off W/Th for a year ). I’m working tonight and Christmas night as well.
However, I do get essentially double-time-and-a-half for all worked holidays and can take twelve hours of that as comp time, instaed of cash, if I so wish. And our holidays are generous - 13 a year, plus two “floating” holidays ( birthday and Malcom X’s birthday of all things ). Plus I get 18 vacation days a year ( and am starting in a year, I will accrue an additional day a year until I max out at 25 ).

I worked on Monday, have Tues (Christmas Eve), and Weds (Christmas day) off, back at work on Thurs and Fri.
Ok I’m off Christmas Day (today) and New Years Day. I took three and a half hours of Administrative Leave on Christmas Eve so I had to com,e in at 2:30 to work until 6. At 2:45 they announced they were closing as of 3:00 so I ended up only working a half hour
I’m Canadian. Can I still participate in this thread? 
I’m on day shift this week and next. What that means is that I worked my normal 7am to 3pm shift on Monday. Yesterday I had to work a half day: 3am to 7am. Ridiculous! All we did was watch Minority Report on DVD and then left early. I’m off for one week and return to my regular shift on January 2.
Everyday, all week. Next week too.
I’ll be spending NYE at work as well.
Gotta pay 'dem bills.
