I just saw the Offspring and loved them, and saw they are in Chicago on Sept 14th. I want to get tickets but the 3 day passes are sold out. However they still have weekend passes for the concerts at Humboldt park so I may go to that.
Has anyone attended this concert in other cities or in the past? What did you think of it?
I’ve been several times to the Chicago one, but this year’s is going to be way more ambitious than any before. It’s been steadily getting less Rioty and more Festy each year. If you’ve been to the Warped Tour, I imagine this year’s will be similar to that. I personally liked it better when there were a couple big names and mostly “smaller” names on the bill. The list of performers looks pretty good, but I don’t know if I’ll be up for dealing with $8 beers and the hassle of such a big event.
We’re going. Picked up the 2-day passes when they were only about $30. Mostly excited for Sunday… Elvis Costello, Iggy & the Stooges, Jesus and Mary Chain (!!!), Gogol Bordello, Built to Spill, a few others.
They really blew out the budget for their first outdoor fest. We went a couple years ago to see Dead Milkmen at Metro as part of the fest when it was just a collection of shows at various venues. I like the direction they’re taking, but doubt they’ll be able to stack up as much talent next year.
