Catalonia is the only region in Spain that has something similar to that whole bunnies and eggs thing, they make monas de Pascua which are chocolate eggs, chocolate cakes decorated with at least one egg or one chicken (the chicken is usually not chocolate, it’s a little doll) and other motifs, ranging from the Sagrada Familia to a manger (it’s the Holy Family too!) to the witch’s house from Hansel and Gretel. I’ve seen some decorated with a soccer stadium. Compared to that or to the classic bunnies, I don’t see what’s the problem with a cross.
