I have a hankering for Rice Krispy treats but the half a bag of marshmallows is a bit on the tough side.
Will they melt Ok? Am I setting myself up for crappy snacks?
Suggestions for something else I can do with them?
I’ve not had trouble melting stale marshmallows. Maybe add a little water.
I was going to suggest milk, until you get the consistency you want, if you think the melted marshmallows are too stiff.
I’ve never had any luck with stale marshmallows except plopping them in hot chocolateand just chewing up the resulting lumps. The one time I tried to make treats with them it was a dismal failure.
Just add a bit more butter/margarine than the recipe calls for.
