Here are the results (JPEG on my Photobucket account). Honestly, I don’t think there was much you could do other than bounce me out of Liverpool and Russia out of Warsaw and Munich at best. This way, Russia can’t build in Warsaw and you can remove your army in Vienna to keep a unit on your front lines for a next year. Not too bad, considering.
You can post you moves here and we can figure out how it would have been.
Hmmmm - any thoughts on what will happen to Turkey’s fleet if the new Turkey doesn’t submit orders. Will it auto-retreat or auto-disband?
Grim
(hoping the latter)
I’m 99.9% sure that units from a country in Civil Disorder are disbanded when forced to retreat. Also, during winter adjustments, units farthest away from home centers are disbanded first. So both the fleet and the army that used to be in Ankara will be disbanded before winter. Sevastopol is safe.
Upon checking the rules: If a player fails to submit a retreat order, that unit is disbanded. Not quite dependant on C.D. rules, but close.
And so it proves…
Must suck to be Germany right now - which two units will he remove?

Calling Paris, calling Paris, come in Paris…
(I need to know whether you agree or not)
He disagrees
Well, he’s got 45 min to change his mind…

P.S. Get your orders in this turn?
Would someone please put a direct link to the game on each page? I’m trying to follow this game, and I keep losing which post has the link.
It is 72 hour days that screw me up. I always think it means I have plenty of time, and then I forget about the game until it is too late. I think if we do this again we should go for 24 hours action phases.
24 hours is too short for someone like me on the other side of the world from the rest of you - if we’re to have a discussion about tactics, then we need a couple of messages back and forth, and if you’re sending yours at 2am (my time) then by the time I read and reply, you’re at work and don’t respond till late evening (my time), there’s not much back and forth…
Maybe 48 hours for moves, 24 for builds and retreats.
I thought I had already entered my orders in =/
And then there’s the American holiday weekend to consider as well.
Yes, the American holiday is more like two consecutive days of non-contact. I thought I had more time, but I lucked out by putting in partial moves with Austria going totally off. In the end “carefully considering” the proposals of an ally ended up as unfortunate procrastination.
All in all, the South African comes out ahead, but I’m not complaining.
Respectfully,
garygnu, Minister of France
You gained two SCs - not sure how that makes me come out ahead?
Grim
I’m not complaining either…
Oh, dear. I’ve made a poor decision in my retreat.
Damn.

I’ve seen worse
How much of a chance is there that a draw is in the offing? Typically when Russia gets up to around 12 centers she becomes a monster, but she has only 2 fleets (builds pending, but St. Pete is in German hands), with the one in the south bottled up in the Black Sea.
Dagnabit - France was supposed to have Norway covered…
