Anyone up for a game of Diplomacy?

That’s three so far with Captain C, Scuba Ben and Malacandra!

Four more! Give me four more!

I’m in if you can get me in.

Like Priceguy, I’m up for another game when the Championship Tourney is over.

I’m also up for being a replacement if somebody bails in the first game.

The sun set is always spectacular, here where the sands of the desert meet the green verdant earth of Europe. The Caliph turns, his body weary but his eyes bright with keen intellect

“Your emminence, the emissaries from the powers of Europe and Russia are here to greet you,” calls his assistant, a young man who goes only by the name Abdul.

The Caliph sighs inwardly. While he would love to spread his rule to the fractured lands of the One True Faith, Allah has other plans for him. It is his destiny to deal with the lands of the Infidels in this, the new century.

Three more to go for game two!

tdn?

Smooth Jack?

How 'bout it?

Just a quick note to let you know that due to the internet restrictions enforced here at work, Websense is blocking the page that Jonathan Chance has set up for us and I can’t see the map. Not terribly troublesome just yet, but definitely a handicap once the game gets going!

Lolz… No, book, why I don’t have 2 A units right next to your home SC… why do you ask? Heheheh…

On a side note, is Press going to be handled here? That would be cool, I know there’s a handful of dopers that enjoy hazing… uh… reading the progress of the games.

Most press will be private & therefore handled via e-mail. If we want to share substantial public press here on the boards, we may want to clear it with the mods … That could make for a long thread that’s of very little interest to most non-participants.

See if you can access this directory:

http://www.dragondark.co.uk/diplomacy/

if so i’ll mirror the map images there for you.

Sorry, no luck there either. Websense blocks that one too as “Uncategorised”.

I fucking *HATE * Websense! I’ve asked our network Gods for special permission to have the site unblocked, so I’m crossing my fingers and hoping…

C’mon, now, people. Just a few more players for game two!

Lemme hear you!

So has everyone signed off yet? I’m eager to get started!

Me too.

A lot.

I scoff at your enthusiasm.

Le scoff!

Ribbit

I’m sorry, I couldn’t hear you over the lamentations of your women.

Oh wait, the game hasn’t started yet.

Bad News:

The network administrators here at work have refused to unblock the site for me, so unless someone can can figure out a way for me to follow the game that isn’t blocked by mother-!"$%^&-ing Websense, I’m gonna have to drop out.

Any suggestions? It would be a shame to miss this considering I started the thread in the first place!

I’m not sure that 24-7 access to the website is necessary. When I’ve played online in the past working for companies with restrictive web policies, I’ve printed out the current board from home in the morning & tucked the printout in my briefcase for reference during the day. If move results came in during the day, I’d mark them on my printout if necessary … It’s not like we’re playing a fast-paced video game here. It’s inconvenient, but not crippling.

Regarding your previous question, I believe there are two players that have not yet responded to the initial e-mail from the GM …

As SCSimmons said you can print out the map, or save it off the page and e-mail it to yourself.

I never got a reply e-mail to my “I’m interested” email I sent. Did I miss something?

I’m also interested, in case the games haven’t filled up yet.
