Anyone want to go to Scarborough Faire; & are we going to do anything about Cheffie

Oops… I meant, of course, Scarborough Faire as the Weekend Misery To Be Avoided At All Costs.

I will get the hang of it. At least I don’t think that a Rebel Yell is “More! More! More!” any longer. Just kidding.
Thanks for the pleasant welcome and social possibilities. I have been a bit “cool” sick, having met every bucket head yay hoo within a 20 mile radius. And OY! are the children brazenly rude… or is it just the ones in my suburban grid zone? Anyway, I am going to go check out the link, thank you, Grace.

Tonight, the smokin’ funk band my brother plays in, Soul Tsunami, is playing at Club Memphis on Belt Line in Addison, just west of the Tollway. I will be there getting my groove on in celebration of my Birthday Eve along with Mama Chef from about 10 p.m. until they throw us out. Anybody wanna come? Zyada can tell you how hard they wail - the first time she and I met was at a Soul Tsunami gig.

Chef Troy you can consider this official warning. You are NOT to heckle the magnificence that is Tron. I mean this was the first movie about cyberspace! A true trailblazer! And it’s a good action flick to boot. Tons of cool gladiator-style games, and a cool hero “He fights for the users” and a great villan too. All in all I don’t see much worthy of heckling here. In another 20 years when true VR comes around and people can look back on Tron as a vision of what VR might have been like THEN it can be heckled, but right now it’s still a kickass movie, a cult classic!

Well maybe the part where the digitized dude puts the fighter ship back together but it’s got a broken foot still. “User power” indeed

Can I still make fun of Gene Kelly doing roller-disco in Xanadu?

Don’t worry, big fella - I have too much affection for both of these movies to say anything really mean-spirited about either of them. In fact, I’m still holding out hope that someone will get me the Xanadu soundtrack CD for my birthday - and if no one does, I’m going to bloody well go and buy it for myself.

Well, it looked like Jim and I were the only ones going. And if I only went with Jim, I’d be dragging him into all of the shops.

If I want to go shopping, I can shop in the air-conditioned comfort of the mall and it won’t cost me $20 or a two-hour round trip.

We’ll do TRF this fall (I swear!) Would one of the rennies make a note to email me and remind me when it gets closer?

I’ll remind you, Zy. I may even have my new vest done by then.
I would have been up for a trip, but I was there all Memorial Day weekend with my family, and they wore out my feet and my pocketbook (birthday presents for my sister-in-law and niece–I got my niece a beautiful belly-dancer outfit, BTW).

Happy birthday, Cheffie!
