In view of UncleBeer’s use of quotation marks with regard to “the ‘assistance’ and ‘advice’ of third parties” in the last post in this closed thread, I’d like to issue an apology to the administrators and moderators for any impertinence in things I’ve said during the “Late Unpleasantness” – it was my desire solely to be of any help that I could, not to cause or create additional difficulties for any of you. It’s very difficult for well-meaning members (like myself, Anthracite, and others) to know when they are providing assistance and when they are just making work for the staff. If I’ve offended any of you who have undertaken to moderate and administer this board, I very much regret it.
Polycarp - I am willing to bet money (and being Swiss, I don’t gamble unless it’s a sure thing) that UncleBeer was referring to the “troll” when he used those double quotes.
We appreciate the efforts of the posters that have offered to help us and give us advice through these trying times.
