For the second time this week, I cracked open a fortune cookie and found NO fortune inside. These were from two separate restaurants.
Guess my life’s gonna be really boring for a while?

Clearly those two fortune-less fortune cookies signify that buddha_david has transcended all attachments and all desires. He has passed on from the realm of hopes and fears for the future. He has liberated himself from the cycle of suffering.
This has also happened to me. And the fortune came true.
I got a fortune cookie without a fortune, once. The waiter said that was extra-special lucky!
Probably since I hadn’t left a tip yet.
Just add “in bed” to it…

The really bizarre coincidence is that I’m currently playing a fantasy RPG in which everyone’s lives are bound by Destiny and Fate, except the main character, who can change people’s destinies and fortunes and is known as “The Fateless One.” It’s so weird when my life gets meta.
No news is good news…
I recently tore open a little packet of black pepper at What-a-Burger, and there was no pepper inside. I demanded my money back, but without success. There’s just no quality control anymore. Probably Chinese pepper, too.
This is a travesty. Rest assured that President Trump will bring back fortune-cookie-making to America, where it belongs.
He’ll do better than that. He’ll lose the election, revert back to private entrepreurship, buy a fortune cookie factory, bleed it dry, fire the workers, protect his own ass in bankruptcy, and move on to black pepper.
Related story: My husband once opened a fortune cookie and had dozens of pieces of paper spill out, all saying the same: “You are the master of every situation.” It inspired one of his novels!
The future is that you’re eating those cookies and that you can make your future as you make it.
