Aw, it’s a really crappy sketch anyway. I’m not an artist. And I can’t draw guns (I’ve never been within three feet of one in my whole life, unless you count watching the poachers walk through my backyard on their way to pick off out-of-season venison)…
::sigh:: Why can’t anybody within 1000 miles be this interested in me?
And now for something completely different (NASCAR news):
Yippee! Talledega’s this weekend. And they’re opening up the restrictor plates! But they’re slowing 'em down with aerodynamics :(…for some reason the rulemakers think that it’s more dangerous at 220 mph than at 195
You’re lucky. He hasn’t put you under his spell. You’re free. Whenever i see his pic I have the urge to leave my wife and kids and small town and hitchhike to Texas to seek him.
1000 miles from nowhere
Well, as of next summer I’ll be a Mississippi resident. Depending on where in Texas you are, might be a 3 hour drive from campus. Of course, if you’re over in west Texas, it’s more like 10 hours…
Restrictor plates
For some reason they believe that REAL racing at 220 mph is more dangerous than clumping them together within inches of each other at 195. The 30mph isn’t making as big of a difference as the different racing styles is. Same thing as Loudon, plates do nothing but piss people off and make the racing more dangerous despite the lower speeds. Don’t get me started on this.
Yeah, I wish I’d been around 30 years ago…220+ (unofficial) or 200 (official) mph in a 426 Hemi-powered SuperBird…If the aero cars and Ford’s 427 SOHC “Cammer” engine (which was never even allowed in) had been allowed to continue… (a little info on FoMoCo racing engines)
Too bad they’re limited to 360 cid and have the plates on the fast tracks now :(. If they’d give 'em the power to spread out, Talledega’s famous upside-down airborne crashfests wouldn’t happen…
And I’m in NE TX, about 60 miles from Shreveport, LA., and right on the interstate. (hey, I can get to Talledega from here without even changing roads! Get on I-20 2 miles from my house, get off I-20 at the track! I see a spring break trip in the making here…:D)
My future college is 2 hours from 'Dega on the I-state; I’m planning to beg season tickets from family connections as a Christmas/birthday present for the duration of my time down there. Makes me wish I lived down there NOW, just so I could get to a track… everything’s 5 hours from me now.
