April Showers Bring the MMP

Morning (just barely) all

Sitting at work trying to figure out the new program that we’re moving to next month. Overall it seems like an improvement, but I know that there’ll be some bugs during roll out

Happy Hump Day!

It’s sunny and cold outside.

I woke up late for irk; sick with a stuffy nose, horrible cough, and sore throat.

It has been a productive morning, and I just finished a lunch of leftover pizza. I haven’t seen the boss yet, which is aggravating since I have a couple of questions for him, but I still have enough stuff to keep me busy for a bit. And I know he’s here - his office light is on. I should probably just leave a note.

It’s kinda dumb - his office is in a hall that’s parallel to ours. But there are plenty of empty offices here and in his hall, so we could theoretically all sit together. I suppose that would make too much sense… :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think I mentioned, but I had to have the blood drawn from the back of my left hand - the curse of crappy veins. At least she got all 3 vials from one stick. There was a time I had to get an IV, and it took FIVE TRIES before it was set. From my arms, I looked like a clumsy junkie!

Stoopit veins.

It’s quiet.
Too quiet.

I have difficult veins, too. When I was in labor with Sah-son it took 13 sticks to get the IV in. Both of my arms were bruised from above the elbows to my knuckles.

I always warn the sticker ahead of time that my veins are bad.

I had some cup o noodles and am feeling better. It helped my sore throat a bit. Now I’m hungry for some real food.

blurf I am paying bills today and tomorrow. Still have not started the budget.

Not feeling very good. Not sick just BLAH

My daughter just found out her pug has a malignant tumor on his leg. It’s been there a while - at first she thought it was just a bug bite, but last week, she took all her critters to the vet and she had it checked out. They’ll remove it next week and try to determine if it’s spread. She’s had Cozmo for almost 6 years - ever since she booted out her ex - and I expect she’s a bit of a wreck right now. It’s never “just a dog” when it’s yours, is it?

:frowning:

Aww Moooommm I’m so sorry about your grandpug. Since it is on his leg that may be a good thing as far as treatment goes. I had Louie’s lump (on his chest) removed within weeks of finding it and that may have been what is saving him. So far there is no sign of it returning and it will be a year in mid June. Of course, it could come back tomorrow or be in other places unseen. Tell her to not worry too much until she knows what she is dealing with. I know that is easier said than done.

I shall create Positive Waves.

We PM’d - her vet seems optimistic about being able to get it all, so there’s that. But apparently it’s something pugs are susceptible to - we’ll need to keep an eye on Higgs.

**FCD **didn’t want supper, so I just made myself an egg-n-cheese sammich. I just want to go to bed - I’s tahred!!

Looks like I’ll have hot water tomorrow, I followed directions (for once) and the pilot light popped on. Of course, I then forgot to turn the knob to on and reset the level of hot (did remember 10 minutes later), so at least I have that much capability as a home-owner.

Now need to celebrate by fixing some dinner…

No short skirt, spidey because I’m smart enough to know that I look terrible in them, :stuck_out_tongue:

Mooooom, they got blood from me on the second stick. That’s fewer than usual.

Since it got cold and rained, I didn’t go out on the bike. Instead, I went junking and came home with a few bargains. I wasn’t really hungry for supper, so it was sardines in mango pepper sauce and some raw veggies.

Made it home after work. Got poke chops and sweet **N.O.T.**s cooking for dinner. Tomorrow is the last tailgate and last home hockey game of the season. :frowning:

I got good veins ,and I bleed well. Nurses love drawing my blood. :stuck_out_tongue:

FINS UP!

Cite?

{{{{Cozmo and FCDaughter}}}}

Same here.
Dinner was about as inspired as the weather – mac n cheese n some hamburger mixed in. The blurfs continue.

I’m going to echo the hugs for FCDaughter and Cozmo. It’s as hard to lose a pet as it is to lose any other family member.

I had to get a temporary handicapped placard to be able to park in front of my office building. My agency is housed in the PennDOT building in Harrisburg. Half the building is the typical DMV customer service location, the other half is office space for PennDOT and a couple of other agencies, including mine. Employees have parking lots on either side of the building, and the one my agency is assigned to is uphill, which means I’d have to negotiate shallow steps. Not happening, sorry. So my orthopedist’s office was kind enough to fax the paperwork to me so I could walk it over to PennDOT. (One of the intangibles where I work is that I can pop in and take care of business.) I also had to use the electric scooter at the supermarket. Those things are fun!

We’re watching Goldfinger on teevee. Reed’s in my lap. The sprog made a dinner consisting of oily green bell pepper and a rather salty cheese omelet. He’s got a ways to go, but he’s trying.

At the risk of being accused of sexual harassment, I should believe that depends upon who is looking at you.

My apologies in advance.

Happy Thorsday!

It’s dark outside, I am up way too early. Still feeling sick.

{{{Cosmo and FKid}}}

Today is appraisal day, I don’t know why I am worried about it but I am. I hope she doesn’t notice the missing railing on the back porch like the previous appraiser, inspector, insurance people did.

After she leaves, I have to take Sah-son to the college for a math test. He is struggling with this class - quadratic equations. I’m sure I did them once upon a time but I don’t remember how. I am pretty pleased with myself though, he asked for help with a few and I got the answers. I have no idea how, but I did.

My ears still hurt, my throat still hurts, and I’m still coughing. I know it’s probably just sinuses, but I feel miserable.

Ya gotta admire the tenacity of some companies, weird as their marketing may be. Something over 2 years ago, we were shopping for a new kitchen faucet. Silly me, while doing on-line research, I ended up leaving my email address with Moen. Today I got an email from them offering me a deal on a new faucet. Um, it’s only been 2 years - how hard do they think I am on faucets? And what if I’d bought a Moen (I don’t recall what we did get, maybe it was…) - “Hello. We remember you shopped with us 2 years ago. Surely you’ve worn out your faucet by now, what with doing dishes and washing vegetables and probably bathing your dog in the kitchen sink…”

OK, so I’m in a silly mood. Deal with it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t have to make lunch today - it’s free-lunch-at-work-day. Apparently they take proceeds from soda and snack sales and when they accumulate enough, they buy lunch for the worker bees. Yay! I’m getting a chef salad because none of the sammiches appealed to me. So extra time this morning!! My breakfast was 'nanner bread. Yum!

I need to buy some 'nanners to get all extra-ripe so I can make another batch before FCD’s folks get here in 4-ish weeks. They’ve never had this particular recipe and I know they’ll love it. Especially my FIL - that man has a serious sweet tooth!

Almost time to head down the road. Much rain is promised today - we shall see how much materializes. And much cold forecast for the weekend, dammit. Stoopit weather.

Anyway, Happy Thursday. blech.

So today is Opening Day with the DC Nationals. We are expecting a lot of rain, just rehabs ending in time for a game, so no delays (so far). I am heading in to the park in a few minutes for what will likely be a 12-14 hour day.

The Nationals are not known to be hospitable to us TV flacks, so I’m sure I’ll be in a totally shit mood by the time it’s done.
