Archer's back tomorrow

Yeah, Archer’s proudest moment is apparently when he succesfully managed to escape from his record club.

This one was definitely closest to the old magic. I really hope that Ray doesn’t end up permanently in a wheel chair. He’s a pretty good field agent - hate to see him stuck there forever.

I loved the opening to episode 3 in which a shot pans on each character in the cell staring meaningfully. Then, finally a shot to Cross’s character…

I wasn’t really sure what was going to happen, but then I laughed.

The rest of the episode ran by too quickly (almost feeling forced) and didn’t really seem as tightly closed as other episodes. Maybe I need to watch it again (which I will, a bunch of times).

Anyway, the ending seemed sloppy and rushed. I liked that the previous Archer episodes seemed to fit neatly in a 20 minute show, but this one didn’t.

Just so long as putting him in a wheelchair doesn’t mean putting him on a bus. He’s not just a good field agent–in S2, he was a solid source of laughs. I’d hate to lose him.

TiVo recorded this past Thursday’s episode (which started at 9:30pm CST), but only recorded the last frickin’ minute. Anyone know where I can catch it online, legally for free?

See post 58. But they run them well after they’ve aired, and only have up 2 or 3 episodes at at time. Odds are it will air again in the network before it shows on the website.

Idiom?

Yeah, I guess the three episode arc was just an excuse to not have to mention the Russian chick again nor address anything immediately after her. As Archer showed when he forgot her name towards the end.

I am curious what’s gonna happen with Bionic Barry. I have a hard time imagining that he’s just going to ignore Archer when he’s been gifted with what appears to be an unstoppable and unkillable body and he appears to be outside of the KGB’s control.

I wasn’t actually that much lof a fan of the three episode stint.

I thought the first episode was only ok

The second was only slightly better

And the third was on the low end of what the Archers’s normally are. I agree that it was pretty much just an excuse to get some eyeballs watching Always Sunny, and to write off Katia. Their hearts didn’t seem into it

Idiom / Trope.

Anyone else love the way that Jessica Walter is basically reprising Lucille Bluth (from Arrested Development) as Archer’s mum? It’s a great show and one I’ve been recommending to my friends, although it’s not to everyone’s taste apparently.

Archer returns on Thurs. - hooray!: Shows on FX

And check out the gift shop in the lower-right corner. I just might get an ISIS mousepad…

Woosh.

“I didn’t invent the turtleneck Lana, but I was the first to recognize it’s potential as a tactical garment. The tactical turtleneck. The tactalneck.”

“Just look at you. Shoulders like a trout.”

“I thought we skipped that step.”
“SKIPPED a step in disarming a bomb!?”
“Yeah, which I thought was pretty irresponsible on your part.”

“Way to go, Chokeley Carmichael.”

I’m behind, because we are just beginning season 2 on Netflix, but I think I’ll go ahead and queue up season 3 on the DVR. As of now, the second season opener “Swiss Miss” is my new favorite episode.

I love me some Pam Poovey.

Someone already mentioned the cooch chili quote so I’ll post another.
Sterling Archer: Why do we have so many damn dolls in here?

Pam Poovey: For sexual harassment complaints so people can non-verbally indicate where stuff happened on their bodies.

Sterling Archer: That takes like one doll.

Pam Poovey: Not if there’s ever a gang rape. (fingers crossed)

I can’t help but wonder if the writers of this show weren’t also involved with the game Saints Row: The Third somewhere… the dialogue is a similar style and tone, which is probably part of the reason I loved the game so much.

The default character voice even sounds like H. Jon Benjamin, although it’s not…
