Are psychopaths rampant in Chinese Communist Party?

As linked above the giant Buddha statues are disappearing. And to compare life in China to any western country is ludicrous. China monitors the daily life in draconian ways.

Through their phones:

Through decisions in their personal lives:

Through spying:

China is nothing at all like any Western nation-state.

The statue has nothing to do with war. Guan Yu was a historical figure who fought to uphold the corrupt Han Dynasty. The statue reinforces Confucian values such as fealty to the state.

This is what I mean about ridiculous cherry-picking. This is among the most false statements it’s possible for a person to make, given that China has many of the world’s biggest Bhudda statues, including the #1, and there has been a massive boom as different provinces are racing to build the biggest, or most impressive, Bhudda

I am a Westerner who has been living in China for 8 years. Day to day life is indeed just the same. And indeed I’ve broken lots of rules while I have been here. The Chinese government is not as godlike as people who’ve only seen headlines often imagine.

Again, are you going to address the point that China has thousands of states, probably hundreds bigger than this one, of Bhuddas, poets and war memorials. Why don’t those “count” in terms of discerning the Chinese government’s will?

You understand the article you have linked is from a state sponsored travel agency? You are not going to find factual reporting about the linked issues inside of China. China has recently banned VPNs so its very difficult and dangerous for ordinary people to have access to banned points of view.

China actively tries to control international opinion through manipulated news. Here is an AP story reporting that China is trying to make Uyghers deny abuse through false interviews:

"But the text obtained by AP is the first concrete confirmation that the videos are anything but grassroots. Sent in January to government offices in the northern city of Karamay, the text told each office to find one Uyghur fluent in Mandarin to film a one-minute video in response to Pompeo’s “anti-China remarks.”

“Express a clear position on Pompeo’s remarks, for example: I firmly oppose Pompeo’s anti-Chinese remarks, and I am very angry about them,” the text said. “Express your feelings of loving the party, the country and Xinjiang (I am Chinese, I love my motherland, I am happy at work and in life, and so on).”"

China is using cutting edge technology to control its population. Westerners should be paying attention to this and make sure it doesnt creep its way across the seas.

Wow way to deflect from the actual points being put to you.

Yes, what’s happening in Xinjiang is terrible. I already said that (unprompted, in fact).

Now, back on topic. Do you concede that “The Bhuddas are disappearing” is a laughably false statement based on a cherry pick of googling for statues being demolished?
