Are reports of Hillary Clinton throwing tantrums credible?

Can you recall another losing presidential candidate who was so emotionally overcome by their loss that they were unable to publically address it until the next day? I can’t.

Imagine the reaction if Trump had done that.

It’s a solid cite from a credible journalist. Take it or leave it, as you wish. Arguing with me over what is/is not in the cite is just silly.

Clinton was First Lady of Arkansas and only took 33% of the vote there. Yeah it’s pretty weak.

She may have not been a nice person individually, but she wasn’t that bad, and Trump certainly isn’t that good a guy in person. That was my only point.

I’ve actually heard a lot of stories from people that Trump is a good guy to those around him, in particular service workers that he could easily ignore. I have heard directly from quite a few NYPD officers that when he was at an event they were working security for he often took the time to shake hands and thank them for what they do. And this was long before the election. All anecdotal of course and not an indication of competence as president.

I recall watching footage of an incident during the campaign trail where Trump had to enter an event by the back way because of prostestors. This was being recorded by a helicopter overhead, he was helped over an obstruction and as he walked away he placed his hand on the back of one of his security staff in thanks, it was a natural and unaffected gesture and I thought it was interesting.

I know you badly *want *it to be that, but it’s really just gossip, from sources of doubtful objectivity and professionalism. Having it be repeated by someone in the media doesn’t clean it up.

The issue is its credibility and neutrality, not what it says. Again, do please read a post before replying.

I have heard that Trump is friendly to those around him as well. It is a good sign IMHO. Too bad he keeps spoiling the signs every time he voices an opinion/view. :frowning:

You know how some people say that, if enough people claim offenses committed the same person across many different episodes, you should probably listen because there is likely to be something to it especially if the people in question aren’t connected?

Hillary Clinton falls into that category perfectly. Those types of accusastions have consistently come out of everywhere from Little Rock, AR to Fayetteville, AR to Washington D.C. including people that dedicated their lives to protect her. I already posted that I knew about that from multiple sources including a different set of SS agents. Those claims go back to the 1980’s - the very early 2000’s and greatly predate the recent election.

There isn’t anything political involved in most cases. Why are you being such a fan-boy that refuses to believe it may be possible that she isn’t a very warm person and could have some anger management issues like hundreds of people that have worked closely with her have claimed just that over decades? I suppose it is possible that everyone was involved in a grand conspiracy against her before they even knew she would run for President but the more likely explanation is that you are simply in deep denial.

How do you feel about Bill Cosby?

The Wiki link specifically addresses the credibility of the book. If you can’t be bothered to read it and produce any contrary cites that back up your concerns, then further discussion is useless.

IOW - a question was asked, many similar rumors were discussed, I produced a cite which seems to corroborate the rumors. So far you have presented what amounts to “Nuh uh!!!”.

Betty Ford gave her husband’s concession speech. President Ford claimed he had “laryngitis”; the footage looks to me like he was a crying mess.

There are 2 separate things here. Hillary may or may not be a very prickly, hostile or unpleasant person to be around. But losing a presidential election has to be one of the most emotionally upsetting experiences any politician can experience. And to lose it in surprising shock upset fashion to Donald Trump, of all people, would be particularly angering.

But that’s happened before. Romney thought he was going to win, but was composed and gracious on the night of the election. And so on for other politicians.

Right, some do handle it well. But it’s like how everyone reacts different to the death of a family member. Some go berserk, some take it well, and that doesn’t necessarily reflect who they usually are; sometimes it’s the calm folks who sob incessantly and the normally outspoken types who fall silent, etc.

But yes I could still believe that Hillary is a normally bad-tempered person as well.

Maybe it is too much to ask but I think people tend to want their presidents to be in the “handle it well” category when it comes adversity rather than how Aunt Jolene handled Cousin Jethro’s death.

I seem to recall one contemporary report referring to him as ‘bleary-eyed.’

People in public roles are often very, very good at that sort of thing. If your job is to be likable, you’re probably going to be likable.

Tom Cruise is often cited as a weird and unlikable person… by movie fans and the general public, people who don’t work with him. People who work on set speak of him extremely highly; he has a reputation as being the guy who’ll walk up to the lighting assistant and say “Hey, Samantha, we worked together on (movie title) back in 2004, good to see you, how are Jeff and the kids?” It’s his job to be likable. If he’s easy to work with, it’s easier to a producer to cut him a big check to sign him up for a movie.

Reports go back to the state troopers that worked guarding her when Bill was governor.
