Hilary Gets Booed by Heroes. Had it coming?

You might not have heard about this, I didn’t until quite a bit later. Story goes Sen. Clinton goes on stage at the NY benefit, gets severely verbally trashed by the policemen and firemen in the audience, and scurries from the stage after 20 seconds. I didn’t see it, so I dont really know.

(Disclaimer: Despite Sen. Clinton avowedly liberal leanings, I am rather indifferent to her.)

Nonetheless, I don’t understand what she is supposed to have done to them? I further read that the #1 Hero of the day later appeared on Rush Limbaugh, something to the effect that they didn’t want to hear her “crapola”.

Drudge has it that she was caught completely unawares, had no idea that these guys hate her guts.

I dont get it. Thoughts?

Is there a cite to find more details about this?

I heard about it on the radio, and I actually heard an audio clip. She was cheered AND booed, and did a great job of ignoring it. I don’t know about any actual nasty words that may have been spoken to her or about her, I don’t think there were any.

As to why… ya got me. I don’t think she’s done a thing wrong. She is in fact the Senator of New York, it’s not like she’s hogging the spotlight as a senator from Arkansas… Her behavior has been no better or worse than anyone else’s.

Sure was rude and lowclass of the people who did it, though.

I will never, ever, ever understand why she inspires such hatred from people. It stumps me utterly.

Actually to my understanding she was booed because her motorcade had almost ran over a cop and that was why she got booed. Still think that it was in bad taste tho’.

And for today’s lesson boys and girls I give you an example of why you should preview.

Fuck!](http://news12.com/CDA/Articles/View/0,2049,11-11-22777-35,00.html)

Was she driving?

As for cites, I got this mostly off the Drudge Report, the Fox News of the internet. OK, so it’s slumming, but I just love a place to get the latest, most scurrilous rumors right now!

Was she supposed to just talk for 20 seconds, or did she haul ass (not that I would blame her!) Now, I am rather used to the idea that policemen tend to be rather more authoritarian and conservative. (Certainly, the Oakland cops who beat a rapid tattoo on this boys head in '68 were expressing a decidedly negative opinion of my political stance.) But firemen?

First of all in doing a little bit more research I found that if you leave the first “e” off of drudgereport.com you get a really interesting family site (re: porn). Don’t try it though, there’s shit loads of pop-up to deal with.

Unfortunately I could not find too much more on it, except a few right-wing sites that talk seem to infer that the reason she was booed was because she’s the anti-christ[sup]TM[/sup]. I would venture a guess however that, as mentioned in the Drudge Report article the majority of the firemen and policemen probably had a dislike of her all along and the motorcade incident was simply kerosene tossed onto the fire. Also, while she wasn’t driving the car she was in the one that almost hit the police officer, not that it should make any difference.

Regardless, I really don’t think there was any need to boo her, especially at a charity event.

I saw it; she was definitely severely booed. There were three booings, one for Richard Gere where I booed at home, one for Hilary, where I didn’t join in, but didn’t object either, and one for a guy who runs some department (EMT?) in NY. He was introduced by Michael J. Fox. I had no idea who he was or why they booed.

They didn’t boo Bill Clinton, for what that’s worth.

And her motorcade did NOT “almost run over a cop”.

Probably for the same reason that Bush inspires such unreasoning hate in some other people.

True, but I don’t recall seeing any instances of Bush being booed since September 11.

Funny how the Clinton-haters are slower to rally around the flag than the Bush-haters.

I think Hillary also took part in the police bashing over the supposed wave of police brutality in NYC. Couldn’t have helped her with the crowd.

I suspect that the reason she provokes such intense hatred among people is the fact that she is an unusual combination of phony and ideologue.

Nonetheless, the booing was completely inapropriate. She is, in the end, the duly elected senator of the state.

Ike:

Unfortunately true in that particular circumstance.

Here are a few reasons, with examples in support:

– McCarthyism. When the Lewinsky scandal broke, she accused people like me of being in a “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.”

– Hypocracy. When she made the above accusation, she know (or must have guessed) that Bill was actually guilty of the sexual accusations.

Lying – Too many to mention.

– Corruption. She apparently was part of a money-laundering scheme to bribe her husband when she made her $100,000 in options. She got several thousand votes from Hassidic Jews in exchange for a pardon of some criminals.

– Communism. Her politics are far, far left.

– Anti-Police. Groups she has supported have been opposed to law enforcement personnel, calling them “Pigs!” And, the Black Panthers, who she supported, actually attacked policemen.

– Anti-Semitism. Three disinterested Democrats, all former Clinton supporters, reported that years ago she called someone a “Fucking Jew Bastard.” She also made anti-Semitic jokes to her Jewish political advisor, Dick Morris. She has supported terrorist groups in the Middle East.

– Arrogance. She felt she could restructure the entire US health-care system, although she had no background in the field. She has never apologized for any misdeed, to my knowledge. She ignored a subpoena, for a document that later turned up in her quarters.

december:

None of which has anything to do with the fact that when she makes an appearance as a Senator she should be treated with the respect and consideration that that office carries.

They booed 'cause they don’t like her.

I agree its in bad taste and these fellows really should know better.

The question I’ve got is the one people kept throwing at me when I posted a thread about her golf-clap and politics-as-usual performance at the State of the Union address:

With all that’s going on these days, why should anyone care so much about what Hillary does or what happens to her? Why do you need to dissect every little thing involving her?

God, your priorities are so screwed up. Get over it people!

I don’t understand this line.

Why is it relevant how fast anyone rallied behind the flag?

Sorry if I was being unclear. (Scylla understood the statement, though, and I had to jack my jaw back up into position after hearing him agree with me on a political issue) Try this:

People who think President Bush is a moron and/or a tool of the Exceedingly Well-Off tend to be leftists, who are not known for knee-jerk “patriotic” gestures. However, in this time of war and physical danger to the nation, they are not showing up at his public appearances to hiss at him.

People who think Senator Clinton is a corrupt hypocritical lying cop-hating Jew-baiting Communist (thanks for the handy run-down, december!) tend to the right-wing, noted for quite some time as claiming the moral high-ground as America-Firsters. Yet they currently consider it a good idea to boo the junior Senator from New York, a duly-elected member of our legislative branch.

Allow me to register my deep disappointment.

Bit of a hijack:

One reason you might not have heard about this is that it received little coverage in the main stream press. It was covered by Drudge, Limbaugh and O’Reilly.

E.g. this from today’s Smarter Times:

Thanks for the clarification.

I happen to agree with your sentiments… dissapointing.
