So far, I’m not terribly impressed by the cast. Of course, I rarely am at this point of the season. My early thoughts are that Renny and Jessie definitely have to go…and soon. I wish the original noms from last week would have held up. Originally liked April, but now, not so much. I guess I was blinded by the cleavage. Now I think here eyes are weird. I kind of like Angie.
Thoughts?
ETA: if Jerry says something else about not wearing military logos when he put up Dan, I’m going to scream.
I watched the Premiere and the next episode, did not watch the Wednesday night vote-off show (I despise the Live episodes of Big Brother, and besides, my TV was tuned to So You think you can dance).
I decided Tuesday that I didn’t want to watch as long as Remy–loud woman from New Orleans-- was still on. Although, truthfully, I’m not watching Big Brother this week or next because I’m traveling, and I’ve yet to think of any redeeming qualities to Big Brother.
Will I resume watching in August? Don’t hold your breath.
I’m watching. My favorites so far are Angie and Keesha. I can’t stand Jessie or Libra. I’d hate to see Libra and April in the final two; it would be like Jun and Allison all over again. I’ve kind of grown to like Renny and hope she sticks around for a while just because she’s entertaining. Jerry is beginning to get on my nerves. (Nitpick: It was Brian he put up while not wearing military logos, not Dan.)
I don’t watch the live feeds but I do read the recaps online, and apparently something interesting happened two nights ago.
I liked it so much better when everyone was all coy about that kind of thing, with the cameras…
Anyway, I really did consider starting a thread this week…but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just too early, because I really couldn’t think of much to say, other than Jessie is an egotistical musclehead tool and I really hope Steven doesn’t go, because he’s the first gay man on this show who hasn’t been a complete stereotype drama queen from the get-go. On the other hand, I hope Dan doesn’t go, because despite his professed conservatism, he accepted Steven’s orientation with absolutely no visible problem and I could very well learn to like him.
Did I mention that Jessie is an egotistical musclehead tool? Just checkin’.
Steven’s problem is that he’s gone completely in the other direction–he’s just not good at any kind of interaction. A real dullard, if you ask me. And, this early in the game, he’s going to snub the HOH by not going up to see his room? Way to put a major target on your back, pal!
I agree with your assessment of Dan, though. If he gets past this eviction, I think he’ll go pretty far in this game.
Jessie may have an ego, but he’s not even in the top 5 in the “annoying houseguest” competition. I mean, Libra went up to Jessie’s HOH room and basically told him, “This is how you have to do it.” And April thinks everything that goes on in the house revolves around her. And she’ll turn on Ollie in a heartbeat–she’s practically admitted as much. Of course, Ollie has placed himself squarely in the “too stupid to make it to the jury” category.
Jerry’s novelty has worn off very quickly. Look for him to go in the next two weeks.
Renny–I don’t know just yet. When she’s interacting with the other house guests, she comes off as a harpie; in the diary room by herself, she’s completely the opposite–calm, cool, and intelligent. Now, I can see hiding your true persona in the interest of game play, but the persona she’s chosen to play as isn’t going to get her very far.
Right now, I like Dan the best, followed by Memphis, Angie and Keesha.
Eh. I like Angie. Memphis is probably the second cutest guy in the house right now (after Steven) but I still can’t get past the stupid “mixologist” thing…you’re a bartender, dude! I liked Libra before she joined April in the mean girls alliance…it looked like she had it together last week, more so than some of the other younger women. I could get behind Keesha’s April-hate if Keesha didn’t remind me so much of Danielle, Daughter of Eevil, from two seasons ago. Although it was Keesha who gave Renny props for her work on the food comp.
Ollie’s a puppet. He’ll go wherever April tells him to.
I thought Jessie’s fixation on “respect” was a little stupid. It’s not respect, it’s fear. There’s a difference. They will kiss your overly-muscled glutei as long as you can put them on the block. Once you can’t anymore, you’re going to be treated like the egotistical musclehead tool that you are.
Jerry is bothering me. I wanted to like him, and last night when he was talking about his wifes’ illness, yeah - I was sad. BUT he’s made racist comments multiple times towards Angie and Libra… so not liking so much.
I’ve been watching the televised episodes, then catching up when I get time on one of the multitudes of fanboards.
I wouldn’t call it racism - just a different era mindset. I sense absolutely no malicious intent, or desire to denegrate on skin color alone – only a different mental schema from his upbringing.
I’ve watched Big Brother since season 3. I usually watch for most if not all of the summer, but I usually stop watching before the end of the season simply because I grow to hate most of the houseguests and the ones I like are eliminated around the middle of the game.
BB3: Jason and Danielle (the outlier)
BB4: Man, I can’t remember…I think Justin?
BB5: Karen and Nakomis
BB6: James
BB7: James and Dr. Will
BB8: Eric and Jessica
BB9: James
I only watched about half of BB9 because I really didn’t like anybody. This season I watched the first episode and felt absolutely no interest whatsoever towards any of the houseguests so I haven’t watched it since or even kept up with the live feeds.
I think I’ve finally outgrown Big Brother…it only took what, six years?
