Are you serious, Savage?

Thanks, Governor Quinn. I suppose it’s the same mentality that prompts people to watch Jerry Springer, only these news programs have a veneer of legitimacy to excuse their outrageousness. My respect for the human race just diminished a little. :frowning:

Jeez, what’s with the Pitting? Savage is kind of nutty regarding stuff like that. It’s just how he is. There’s really nothing to Pit about him, he’s pretty marginalized to start out.

IMHO, the sentiment that people like him express has some basis in fact, there are some people who clearly feel alot like he does and ergo respond to the present world in similiar ways. It’s something that ought to be adressed, but I don’t think that responding to specific paranoid claims of his is going to go very far in addressing the problems he bitches about.

Look, call a spade a spade. The first chapter of his book uses language that’s pretty clearly anti-gay, but I don’t know exactly where it ought to go from there. He’s just another voice in a signifigant segment of society that is disgruntled about everything, and frankly I don’t see anything uniquely hateful or oppressive about him.

I must admit, a political commentary show hosted by Randy Savage would be rather odd.

He could do a “Crossfire” with Hulk Hogan…

“Snap into some politics…ooooooh yea!”

“Hogan, you know you are wrong on the establishment of Free Trade between the Latin American nations. I feel that a free market will hurt the poor. Oooooooh yeah!!!”

Actually, I hear that Savage dislikes Hogan in real life.

“Brrother, when all my Hulkamaniacs in Costa Rica call the Hulkster’s name and demand free trade, he listens!”

Are they still wrestling? They were a couple years ago.

I just heard MSNBC say he’s on at 5 PM today. Is that his first show? If so, are people going to watch? Like a train wreck, I’ll probably watch. Long-term though, I don’t think he’ll do well on TV.

Hmmm…I think I’d actually watch the show if a debate ended in a folding chair whacked against someone’s noggin every now and again.

Hogan is still wrestling on Smackdown. Well, he came out of retirement to do it. As for Savage (Randy) I don’t know what he’s doing these days. Last time I heard about him, he was guest starring on “Space Ghost: Coast to Coast.”

Sorry for the hijack.

As a hijack, I watched a minute or two of his TV show, and saw an instant problem. Basically, he’s taping his radio show. There’s no reason for anyone to watch this who doesn’t already listen to the radio show. In addition, Mr. Weiner (I refuse to call a grown man Savage unless he does something along the line of biting the head off a pre-schooler) looks too much like a herbologist (his former occupation) for his character to work. I expect this program to go the way of Rush Limbaugh’s TV show, and possibly cause the same decline in importance.

I thought so, too. Superb!
