Well, if I were being totally honest, I would say that I would run up to everyone who could possibly be Yumanite and would hold up a sign saying “Welcome to the Dopefest, Yumanite!” This would include pretty much everyone who appeared to be over 13 years of age.
I’m thinking…is there anywhere kind of near the lake, but not too close, that’s more kid-safe? I think there’s a little park type area by Mill and Curry that’s a good quarter mile from the actual lake and has a playground. If I go by there, I’ll take a better look.
Since we’re less than 2 weeks out I thought I’d give this a bump.

Was Tempe the official spot for this Dopefest still? I still wanna go but my SO works on Saturdays usually so using his car is out of the question. Craparoo, looks like I’ll miss it sniff

All I know is that it is supposed to happen in Tempe Town lake, at noon tomorrow, not sure what picnic area, or if it is going to be: Idle Thoughts has not replied back and time is running out, I guess I will go and drive around there at noon.

Of course! Fate hates me… ARRRRGH. My lil’ one has mega-snotty nose this morning and keeps sneezin’. I didn’t check this thread until late, GIGO is the nicest fella. This has been a bad winter for my kiddo and colds SIGH and that means it’s been bad for me since I get whatever she brings home from school. My So gave me his cold during Christmas (not that it’s a bad way to get a cold, mind you) that I thought I got over but my stuffed nose keeps hanging on.
Normally this season is a breeze for me to get through with no problems. I’ve no wish to breathe ICK on fellow Dopers or have my angel slime them with the “snothand” (no one told me that moms are human kleenex, darn it all) so I’m out of the running on attending. I sort of forgot the exact dates, too, but there still seems to be some confusion. I ask that someone brings a camera and posts pics!! I promise that I WILL attend the next Dopefest planned for us Arizona Dopers, just make it way before the summer hits so hard. You guys be safe out there this weekend and have fun!
