Wasn’t that the girl his knocked up, but his mom paid off to get rid of her? Connor Hawke’s mom, maybe? That’s who I assumed she was, I didn’t bother checking if it was the same actress.
Wiki’s page on Connor Hawke backs my assumptions, it appears.

That video blackmail thing could bit Malcolm in the butt. Hey Thea, look what daddy dearest made you do.
Arsenal?
I’d like to see Atom do his thing too. Is he going to get his own spin-off too? I kinda doubt it.
Oh, right–I forgot about that.
Yes. Oliver jokingly called him Speedy, which is what Thea called him, but Roy didn’t like that. Earlier this season someone referred to Roy as a weapon in Arrow’s arsenal, and Arrow decided to use that as his codename.
LOL’d at the “we fight shirtless” line during the final scene. Because of course they do.
Good episode, but I hope they have some better motivation for Al-Ghoul in mind. So far he just kinda randomly kills/threatens to kill people just to make life tough for the main characters.
I may have missed a plot point a while back… What’s Ollie been doing for money lately? Did he get bought out by Palmer, in which case he has a billion or two sitting in his bank account, or is he “nearly broke,” which for a former billionaire might mean he’s down to a measly 5 or 10 million? Or did he just pull a Big Daddy from Kick-Ass and when he was killing people in season 1, he walked out of their lairs with suitcases full of cash? Or are they just ignoring that pesky little detail? It’s not like he’s paying rent…
Thanks for asking this. I also do not know the answer. I thought he was dead broke.
Yeah it’s a good question. At one point he was literally broke, but since then he’s been doing okay. And what do Roy & Diggle do for money? Roy’s got a job at the bar, but what about Diggle? Does his wife support him? Ollie should have enough money to keep his team happy. Felicity probably makes boatloads of money, but I wouldn’t expect her to finance the team.
“Well… ya see… the thing about hoods and arrows and motorcycles is… they’re cheap.”
I thought Ollie was living off Thea’s inheritance for the moment.
Ollie is crashing with Thea, but where did he live before she came back? Also, he still has to run the Arrowcave.
He was sleeping in the Arrowcave before Thea let him stay with her.
Another thing I’m wondering… in the Flash crossover, he gets testy when Dr. Wells thinks for about three seconds and figures out who he is. He says he’s very protective of his secret identity, and I had to laugh. I went back through the episode summaries on the wikipedia, and it looks like every character with a name & lines & a recurring part knows he’s the Arrow, with the possible exception of Thea. Does she know? That wasn’t clear from the synopses. Walter never found out, but he left, so he doesn’t count. McKenna, too, but I think she went to do her rehab in whatever city the Flash is in, so she should be showing up there any time now and somebody will blab.
The crossover set of episodes was fun, but they had to cram a huge amount of premise-building into about 90 minutes, so the short cut of Wells figuring him out serves two quick shorthand check boxes. (It was longer than three minutes - there was a break of at least several hours in between the challenge and response - and he well could have used his future-viewer to cheat.)
It’s also limiting to have major characters not know the secret, however it’s handled. Stories have to be pivoted around the secret, which gets tedious.
And it’s still only about a half-dozen people, all in key relationships with Ollie, who know. It’s the general public he wants to keep mystified.
Major recurring characters who do NOT know his identity are:
Thea
Detective Lance
Maybe that’s it?
I’m pretty sure Lance knows who he is, but both he and Ollie might be pretending otherwise to protect Lance as a cop.
That or he is right up there with Miami Dade detectives in capability.
I could’ve sworn I’ve seen Detective Lance (Captain? Officer? whatever) in the Arrowcave…
As long as Ollie wears his disguise, Lance would never figure it out.
Maybe Felicity hacks into organized crime bosses’ bank accounts and transfers over a few million here and there.
“Lance Hunt wears glasses. Captain Amazing doesn’t wear glasses. Duh.”
The joke being Wells didn’t actually figure out Ollie’s identity, he only knew because at some point in the future Ollie’s identity becomes public.
Not spelled out in the episode, so it’s technically just speculation on my part, but c’mon, dude knows about the future, of course that’s how he knew.
