That can’t be it - I’m the oldest with two younger sisters. But c’mon, think of all the qualities that make someone a good person, and name one that Thea demonstrates consistently.
Tommy was a spoiled rich party boy like her - but also a loyal friend. Laurel’s a drunk and a junkie, but has spent her professional life helping the down-trodden. Roy was a petty criminal who stilled cared about his community and friends.
And Thea? Thea’s consistent - at the least bit of emotional upset she can be relied on to find the absolute worst course of action and pursue it - to get high, drunk, into the wrong car, in bed with the wrong guy. The time, money and Herculean efforts spent keeping Thea alive and out of prison (where her stupid ass wanted to go, just to upset her mother) would have made the Glades a Utopia by now, re-directed.
Well, there was plenty of whining about secrets etc, but the team fight against Slade was cool. Slade was a bit underused though.
The parts with Ollie sneaking around his mansion and listening in and finding the recording from his dad and felicity talking to herself was all a bit too cute and retconny, but oh, well.
Not a bad ep, but now we’ve got old guest starts week over, I’m ready to move forward.
Something I was wondering about, regarding Ra’s. Only the student has a hope of beating the master. So, Ollie & Thea have to be trained by Malcolm, Ra’s former student. Why doesn’t Malcolm take on Ra’s himself? Or does it take three students to defeat the master?
I went back and watched the first episode after this one, and they’re doing a nice job tying all these flashbacks into what has gone before in the actual series… in episode 1, he sees his sister scoring some drugs at a party, and he’s got a look on his face that, the first time, I interpreted as him being pissed at finding out that his sister had turned to drugs. This time, it looked more like “Oh, great, this again… Hope I don’t have to kill this guy.”
They kind of handwaved that she could get in touch with them because they were “in town”. Which doesn’t really answer the question. Maybe she just stood on the nearest dark street cornor and yelled “Merlin did it”.
Well, except for the black guy, apparently. I guess Ra’as hasn’t really kept abrest of progress in Civil Rights over the last few centuries.
You’d think he’d at least try offering the leadership of his league of professional assassins to someone who wasn’t avowdly agasint killing people though. And who is the only guy smart enough to show up with a weapon invented post 1500AD.
WTF is with these shows constantly taking a week or two off? No Arrow this week, no Gotham this week, no Flash for the last two weeks. What oh-so-important shows are CW and Fox showing in their places?
Is The Blacklist on this week, at least?
(Yes, these are the only four current shows I follow.)
And !@#$ CW for refusing to show me anything unless I turn off my ad blocker.
Yeah, I’ve really enjoyed the last few episodes, even if “Ras lets them all go and won’t harm Ollie at all because of Deus Ex Machina prophecy” is a bit silly. I was glad that Palmer seemed to be vaguely reasonable when necessary… the whole “if I was as evil as you say I would kill you now” thing seems like it ought to be pretty convincing. Obviously a fight of A.T.O.M. and arrow vs Ras and the league of assassins would be pretty epic.
