So I was looking up reference links to talk to a friend who thinks majority rule is the way the US “should be” and of course I checked Straight Dope.

I found this article posted in 1999:

signed by “Ian” “The Donald in 2000”

Did Ian mean the current so-called President? Where is Ian now?

Just curious if Ian is actually prescient and what else he might have to say about the outcome of this administration.

Or maybe I am jumping to a conclusion about the signature… I was going to use a smiley but there isn’t one for … just interested in a laughing sort of way.

It does appear that Ian was indeed promoting Donald the Trump. Calling him prescient, however, is unnecessary, as “the Donald” bandied around the idea he might be running then, too. This is the first election that he actually committed.
