Well, if you don’t ask for it, you’ll only get served with what they want to give you. The “they” being the established parties. I don’t think it’s a pipe-dream to expect experienced people to hold public office. It can’t be worse than what we’re currently being offered.

I was kind of pleased when Ventura got elected, anything to shake up the establishment.

Shaking up the Establishment can be good, but shock value, just for shock is limited. Sure, Jesse shocked the Establishment, but how’s his record since then?

People, people, you forget. The Puritans didn’t come to this country for religious freedom. They had that freedom in Amsterdam but it was corrupting them.

Because for those that view faith as a possession, and treat God like an object, it’s just another way to demand special treatment by virtue of their religion. It’s prideful and arrogant to the extreme, and a perfect example of what Christianity is not about.

Is his faith so weak that he’s likely to capitulate simply by being in the prescence of someone who holds a differing view? If so, he needs to reevaluate his world view. Self proclaimed Christians who treat their faith and their God as property give the church a bad name.

Sadly, this form of religion is very, very popular. How appealing to have all the answers, and be able to dismiss anything that displeases you by calling it heretical.
