TPTB sent me a new laptop. Rah. However, LotusNotes is not configured on it. This is important because this is the way in which TPTB have deigned to be the way to connect to workstuff. Thus, I get to get walked through configurin’ the dang thing by tech support later this mornin’. I am sooooooooooo overjoyed. :rolleyes:
However the new ‘puter is shiny and new so I suppose that’s sump’n. In the meantime I have two, count ‘em two, laptops sittin’ on my desk. Go ahead they said and get the old one ready to ship back. Nope said I. We shall get the new one workin’ properly first. In the meantime I need the old one for like irk purposes, ya know, the thing I show up to do everyday.
Thus endeth what I suppose one could call the rant.

Back from my shopping errand. I had 5 items on my list. I got all 5. Plus some. I didn’t break the $200 barrier, so there’s that. And we’re having poke tenderloin for supper, rotissed to perfection. And N.O.T.-n-onions, and shrooms, and 'maters off the vine because they’re starting to ripen way too fast so we need to start eating 'em. It’s amazing how much 2 plants produce with a little kick from miracle-gro. Lucky for me, I love 'maters.
Lotus Notes? Egads. And do you also have to log into an AS/400 to do your work?

Okay, the recipe.
Sunset Punch aka Tomato Juice
1 oz blood orange syrup
1/2 oz Chambord
1 oz peach schnapps
1/2 oz limoncello (optional)
1 oz vodka*
2 oz cranberry juice (approximately)
2 oz orange juice (approximately)
- I’ve been using soju instead of vodka lately, because I want to use it up. If you’re a lightweight, soju is a good option because it’s less alcoholic.
For the juice I basically just top it off with half of one and half of the other, thus the approximately.
What I’ve been doing when my boyfriend comes over, because this is so yummy, is make a pitcher full - four times everything, for my pitcher - and sticking it in the fridge.
I need to get more juice and Chambord though… (My other favorite drink right now is Woo-Woos - the recipe I have is 1 oz vodka, 1/2 oz peach schnapps, and 4 oz cranberry juice, although googling gives me different proportions on every site. I tend to do closer to 1 oz peach schnapps)
Anyone have an update on Phouka this week?

Which is a damn good thing!
Every day for the past 10 days or so I have returned home or awoken with the thought “I am beat - I need a break. I’m gonna call in today!” but I kept going in.
However last night as I drove home I noticed my ankle itched - heat rash I suppose. Then the other ankle started itching, and by the time I got home my hands started to itch and my lower legs were going at it too. So it was a mad scramble looking for my Benedryl stash (why the fuck was it in the door of the pickup?) and today, folks, I am home.
The itching is going away - don’t know why I had a hives attack (well I did shoot a building fire on the way home but there wasn’t much smoke left when I got there.)
So it’s chillin time - though I did have to go climb out on the truck to get info for the microwave dish replacement. The original was a Nurad 20 OR2D R for those keeping score. Made in Baltimore, I think Nurad has been out of business for at least 20 years, making it likely this dish was a holdover from a previous truck and it’s true age could be 30-40 years old.
Yikes!
(ETA: looks like Nurad Technologies is still around building defense dept antennas, not in the tv biz since about 1998 from what I can read into it. Anyway, it’s old shit.)
And the verdict is… brand new shiny laptop is FUBAR!!!111 Thus, I get to pack it up and send it back. Lotus Notes would not configure. Somebody, somewhere did sump’n wrong and it ain’t me. HAH!
In other news, instead of chikin ‘n dumplin’s for dindin I am told we shall be goin’ out for Mexican because OYKW has him a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for Mexican. We must satisfy the gnawin’ and cravin’ after all.

<yawn> Aunt Flo’s been kicking up a ruckus; guess she knows she’s gettin’ on in years and is trying to make up for the 20 years she won’t be around ALL AT ONCE.
So I’m making my hot chocolate and passing it around to everyone: if it’s cold or rainy where you are, it will warm you up. If it’s hot, then you might as well even everything out and join the party.
