Ask the Straight Guy

Could you clarify this? If you are saying ‘This person was raised as a male and spent years being perceived as a male’ then you are obviously correct. If you are saying ‘this person was born male and only became female through surgery’ I have a big problem.

That would be a “define your terms” thing. “Male” can mean lots of different things even to the same person at different times or in different contexts. In this context I meant “perceived as a male”, and, along with that, was altercast as a male by pretty much everyone for many years and therefore had that experience, which I did also.

AHunter3 I thought that was what you meant, I just wanted to be sure.

Re Lesbians

I understand that the image of lesbians as portrayed in pornography made for men is hugely inaccurate. I’ve known that for a long time. However, such women do exist. At the Henri David ball there are usually a few same-sex couples who are young, hot, nearly naked, and are perfectly willing to kiss, or even have sex in public. Unfortunately, I only ever seem to spot male couples doing this, and have friends tell me what Sapphic spectacles I’ve missed. I understand that lesbians have no sexual interest in men. But, I still hope to spot a couple who are exhibitionists enough not to care who the audience is. I also dream of a threesome with two hot bisexual women. That dream is too beautiful to give up.

I have looked at things from the other side. If I were gay, how would I feel about women wanting to watch me have sex with another man? They would have to be good friends, that I felt I could trust, and they would have to keep quiet because who wants to hear a woman screaming while you’re trying to have sex? If I were bisexual, either interested friends would come to expect a man on man sex show as part of their birthday celebrations, or it would be added to the list of interesting tricks I did at parties.

Believe it or not, my dad dated Judi Dench back in the '50s, when she was still best known as a stage actress. Judging from pictures taken of her back then (not by my dad!), she had an elfin grace to her that you don’t really see today. As my dad tells the story, they had a lot of fun but then went their separate ways.

When Dame Judi was appearing on Broadway five or six years ago, my dad and mom (who’s been amazingly mellow about it all) went backstage and had a nice visit with her.

I guess in some alternate universe, Dame Judi might’ve been my mom.
