At The Crossroads, Y'all's Fine Help Most Appreciated

I’m at a life crossroads, two great interests crossing with one another, and I’m wondering which way to take,or if I can make them mesh.

Here’s the crux of the biscuit: I was once a music biz photographer, and one of the few female blues photographers. I’m so-so, to my mind, and have had a three-year hiatus from that life. Now, I’ve made a turn in focus, and am pursuing another avid interest; native plant studies. I’ve got a great job with a well-respected native plant nursery, and love what I do.

This weekend, I attended the social function of a symposium of folk music here at UNC. I saw many old music friemds, who encouraged me to pursue my photography, based on my previous work. They were amazed I’d “dropped out”, and were adamant that I still do my photography, because they saw it as “great” work. All that kinda talk embarrasses me, but it did make me think.

Does anyone else have a division of interest? How did you handle it?
