Athletes with appropriate names for their sport

I was thinking about this watching the hockey playoffs. What a great name for an NHL goalie: Jonathan Quick.

And then I noticed again during the NBA playoffs - phonetically Tim Duncan is a pretty good name for an NBA forward.

I could only think of a couple others: Usian Bolt, NFL linebacker Quentin Jammer, NFL receiver James Jett, MLB pitcher Rollie Fingers, and MLB infielders Cecil and Prince Fielder.

Any other athlete names that are perfect for their sport?

Bills cornerback Reggie Corner.
Browns wide receiver Fair Hooker.
Pitcher Bill Hands.

Browns RB Mac Speedie.

And a couple of Chicago Bears: Bronko Nagurski and Dick Butkus. Perfect football names, both.

Some golfers:

Chip Beck
Birdie Kim (changed her Korean name to “Birdie” when she joined the LPGA)
Jonathan Byrd

A couple of bad ones for baseball pitchers:
Bob Walk
Grant Balfour

Race car driver Lake Speed. 'Course he’d have been perfect in regattas.

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick.

NASCAR driver Dick Trickle 'cause that name works everywhere.

Former American Olympic swimmer Misty Hyman

Former Washington and Oakland fullback Rock Cartwright.

Homer Bailey has an unfortunate (and often accurate) name for a pitcher. Of course that’s not his given name, I don’t think.

Per Mertesacker works phonetically if you prefer the American name for association football.

Jeremy Irons doesn’t play golf, but what about Tiger Woods?

Indy Car driver Will Power.

It’s now or never.

How about the world’s fastest man - Usain Bolt?

Even though he was a RB Jim Kiick.

Essendon (Aussie Rules) footballer Derek Kickett

We had a cheerleader in college named Felicia Bumpass.

Alge Crumpler was an NFL player. He was a tight end, but should have been a linebacker with that name.

Oh, and then there’s this.

In the OP. (Although I did spell it wrong - maybe you were searching for his first name in the thread)

Rockies pitcher Josh Outman.

Minnesota Twins pitcher Scott Diamond and NFL quarterback Chuck Long.
