If you’ll notice, when they bury Shmi, there are two other headstones visible. It stands to reason that one of those is Cliegg’s first wife, Owen’s mother.

Actually, though I’ve long been a proponent of the Palpatine/Paalpatine clone possibility, I’m starting to doubt it now that Lucas has made all clones look like Jango. And Lucas will do anything to prove me wrong. He hates me.
Actually, I like this theory. It would explain why the Jedi Council doesn’t feel the Dark Side OOZING out of Palpatine.
Ok, question about Cypher-diaz 9or whatever). If you watch the councel scenes in EP 1, you will see a LONG necked Jedi…looks remarkably like a Kaminoian.
Regardless of whether that is cypherdiaz, wouldn’t that mean that Jedi would know what the heck a Kaminoian is?

On the question of Amidala and Anakin’s aging:
IIRC, Amidala was fourteen in TPM and Anakin was nine. The disparity of ages there was due to the fact that, as on Earth, girls just mature faster. (Take a look at the Naboo scenes, especially near the end. She really looks early-teens. It’s the Tatooine scenes that throw the whole thing off, because she looks late teens/early twenties; I think they were shot last in the production schedule, when Natalie Portman was going through her last growth spurt.)
Now, in AOTC, Anakin is nineteen and Amidala is twenty-four. Hardly what I would call scandalous.
Who payed for the 1,200,000 clones? (200,000 ready now, 1 million later) I am assuming they were not created for free, nor cheap. How do you hide that kind of funding from the Republic GAO?
I’d guess it came from the Sith Slush Fund, generating interest for the last several millenia.

I’m no SW expert, but shouldn’t the Jedi have been a bit put off by using a clone army? I realize they didn’t have a choice, but they didn’t seem at all disturbed by the idea of humans generated as battle slaves.
Of course, none of them ever bothered to free Anakin’s slave-mom either.

This would all make sense if it was a monarchial rule, but AOTC made it clear that that was not the case.

Seriously, perhaps Sidious paid only for a portion up front, and the rest would be paid later from his slush fund. I can imagine that the Force would help you earn and hide money in many ways.
